BMW and M Power Owners

How long is left on the warranty?

The £6k car I saw was advertised as 1 previous owner so could be more desirable than yours despite the 95k miles.

If you want a quick sale then I think you're going to be looking closer to £6k and possibly a touch less. You could be waiting for months for someone wanting your car at £6.7k, meanwhile you've paid £xxx in advertising costs and the inconvenience of having to show potential buyers the car. If you're happy to hold on then fine but like someone posted earlier - it's currently a buyers market.

Expires 12/13

Id like to get good money for it but for the sake of £500 id rather it was gone .. I will leave it at £6500 for the moment and if no one bites in the next week i will lower it down to £6250

I would remove the previous owners line personally, 3 doesn't sound great and isn't a fact worth mentioning.

Great point, done :)

My M135i is in the UK as of yesterday and will be with the dealer this week ... Now that's exciting ;)

Another call this time from AT :) hopefully be sold by the weekend

Going to view a 320d Touring on a 55 with 115k. Has FSH and seems in good condition from the pics. Should I be wary of anything?

i'm guessing on a 55 it might not be a model with a DPF? So if thats the case thats a bonus, is it a private sale or from a garage? If your going to take it on a test drive might be worth looking up how to get the hidden menus up to check the engine gets upto temperature quickly to eliminate thermostat issues (something I didnt know about till it was too late) im not sure on much else on the 2 litre diesels tho

It's from a garage. It's an 05, not a 55.

It's that one.

Ah ok so E46, it certainly looks clean enough, first thing to check is the condition of the drivers seat bolsters, both my e46's were unmarked, many I looked at were not one thing that niggles me is the bolsters, for some reason the back seats look more worn that the fronts and also the front passengers more so than the drivers? (hard to tell without seeing it in the flesh). Mechanically both my E46's were sound but were not diesels so probably better waiting on someone with some better knowledge to come along, certainly check for rust on both the front and rear arches, front wings are easy enough to replace but if the backs have gone (like mine did) personally id walk away

Check both remote keys are present and work
Check reversing sensors work
Check no clunks from diff (might be trickier on an auto)

Before I bought my e90 330d i test drove a 330ci e46 under acceleration it had horrible tramlining so might be worth giving it a good go to make sure it stays straight and true under acceleration otherwise it would need new front control arms or bushes (but it could have well already had them done at the miles it has)

Things you'll need to be aware of are the swirl flaps which will need to be replaced with blanking plates else they can get sucked into the engine. They get brittle over time and break. This isn't a huge job.

Diesel injectors may need replacing at some point, I believe these are prone to failure at hihger mileages/with age so these are something to think about.

The above to affect diesel engines and seem to crop in most forums where someones looking at diesel :)

Also check the gearbox as best you can, they aren't horribly unreliable but they do fail and can throw up big bills as you'd imagine. Make sure the gear changes are smooth and if you feel it 'slipping' or it's clunky, walk away.
