UEFA Champions League/Europa League 23/24/25 April *** Spoilers ***

Whilst I also think it was a foul on Alba, it makes a change that the ref isn't blowing for every dive and feigning injury that Barca, specifically Biscuits, Alves and Alba, get away with every other week.

It was nice to see busquets getting a bit of a kicking in midfield at times, Martinez was all over their midfield.

:D

Haha, love it.

It was nice to see Barca totally outplayed. They only had one memorable half chance from what i can remember. The rest of the time they were totally inept.

How that goal wasn't given as a foul I will never know - even if Muller was "slowing down" shouldn't make a jot of difference.

Well done BM, at least it makes the 2nd semi and potentially the final a lot more interesting (although Messi isn't likely to be completely fit for next week)

Well the thing is Muller was slowing down and, you often see in a "real" body block the blocking player get absolutely... mullered.... here he doesn't even adjust his feet. I really get the impression that while there is contact, its classic Alba making it look as bad as possible. The key thing really is he was just completely beaten, Robben was about to cut in so even if Alba wasn't blocked he'd have more chance of running into Robben and giving away a penalty than stopping him shooting.

If Alba was wth him the whole way, shoulder to shoulder and Muller came across and did that would be one thing, but stepping a bit in the way without absolutely throwing himself at the player, while Alba had no chance of catching Robben, and making a MASSIVE meal out of it. Meh.

Anyway as said, Bayern deserved without question one penalty, maybe two, and while Alba is in the press saying two goals shouldn't have been given, it was only one at most AND Alba should have been sent off for sure.

I'm also caught in two minds about Pique being sent off, he did another less intentional handball, but the one he did intentionally, that was a shot at the goal he moved his arm towards the ball and blocked it completely.... it was such blatant cheating and so intentional I think a yellow would be a tad soft and a red not entirely unwarranted.

Has there been an explanation to Pique's hair, or lack of?

The man is dating Shakira, he can dress and look however the **** he likes! Shame hes not a great footballer really. I'm sure there were a glut of people over the past few years laughing about how united let such a good CB back that plays for Barca leave.

You see those kind of body checks all the time in the middle of the field to give team mates more time on the ball and players usually just get on with it.

I think what made it look bad here is that Alba was completely beaten by Robben and even if Muller wasn't in his way he probably wasn't getting to the ball, so he made no attempt to go around Muller and just fell down.

Barca in total had two good chances, one of which was cut-off by Dante who nearly put it in his own net (the ball could really have gone anywhere), but prevented a certain Messi goal, the other was when that kid who was partnering Pique got put through but skied it over the bar.

Bayern off the top of my head created about half a dozen chances in total, and scored 4 of them. It's not like they were making Valdes busy all night, but when they got a chance they were pretty ruthless.

I think Barca may well win the 2nd leg next week, but I can't see them failing to keep a clean sheet, and they're not going to score 4, let alone 5-6.

Messi still should have scored that, completely pussied out and just assumed he couldn't get it when sticking his leg out a bit and he pokes it in.

He was absolutely garbage last night along with Sanchez and whoever else they had on the right.

Missed the game last night but saw the highlights and have to say Bayern absolutely smashed Barca to pieces. Basically took Messi out of the game and without Messi having any input, Barca look extremely ordinary. Losing their manager Pep is a big loss imho, they dont look anywhere close to how dominant they were a couple of years ago. Barca's defence is an absolute joke, i thought Arsenal were bad defensively but Barca's defence is just so so poor and it doesnt help that Puyol, who is old now and injured isnt playing for them.

Cant see Barca scoring 5 or more goals and not allowing Bayern to score in the 2nd leg next week...pretty much certain that Bayern are in the final as it is.

Tonight im hoping Borussia do over Real but even if they dont and Real get to the final, i dont think Mourinho and co have any chance of beating Bayern...they are just so so strong.

As for that Robben goal, i was surprised the ref didnt call a foul on Muller as from what i saw, he just barged right into Alba but again i dont think Alba would have stopped Robben from scoring again.

Personally Bayern with Pep next season and Gotze in the squad...they are going to be pretty damn dominant for the next few yrs...they just have an awesome squad both defensively and offensively. As for Barca?? the only reason they have walked it to the La Liga title this yr or will do is due to Real being inconsistent earlier on in the season but they have beaten Barca twice in the El Clasico this yr...so Barca are very lucky to have a 13pt gap in the La Liga or else i think Real would and could have won the title again.

Its hard to say if this wouldn't have happened with Pep in charge. People have just learned how to play against Barca now. Its not easy but with discipline and top class players to punish them, its not anything like impossible. They struggled through their last 2 opponents barely and neither were amazing in either leg.

They are a one trick pony and when that trick doesn't work they are stuffed. I think Bayern were the perfect team to decimate Barca. Top quality players all over the pitch, Martinez rinsed them in the middle and everyone worked like crazy. Couple that with clinical finishing and Barcas poor defence and you have the recipe for a 4 - 0 thumping.

Was really impressed with Robben's game last night, my mates always telling me how wasteful he is going forward and never makes the effort tackling back but yesterday he was superb.

He was actually decent for once, didn't get too many chances he got bottle to be fair and got a rather helpful assist from Muller and Valdes on the goal

Bayern Munich deserved the result as they worked really hard.

2 of there goals were suspect through and should not have been given IMO.

Even Robben put in a decent shift.

The 'offside' goal was incredibly tight and ITV shown a replay suggesting that he was played on. In these situations I'm sure the benefit of the doubt is given to the attacking team so it's easy to understand why that should have counted.

I'll agree that the Robben goal shouldn't have stood but then when you take into account the blatant handball that should have been a penalty I think 4-0 is the correct score.
