*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

My Debit card has been subjected to possible fraud (they are actually my transactions but HSBC still want to ship out a new card :@) so before HSBC cancelled the card and issued me a new one I rang up Chitter Chatter to get them to take out card payment early as it will be 5-7 working days till I get my new card. Long story short is that the lady on the phone didn't know when stock would arrive. I asked if it would be Saturday and she said it was unlikely and would probably be later. I was under the impression it would be arriving on Friday and being dispatched for Saturday delivery!!??

I was told that "if" they get them in on the Friday early enough then they will be sent out for saturday delivery. However if they arrive late in the date they will be sent out Saturday and so we may not expect to receive them until around Tuesday.

Sucks balls I know, but at least we're getting a phone :)

I'd have thought though that they'd be on the ball with this sort of thing and make sure all shipments went out early Thursday to get to suppliers for Friday morning. If the phone is going to take the world by storm, they should be a little bit more organised about doing it.

Today's reviews have been pretty hard on the S4. People seem generally underwhelmed and aside from storage seem to prefer the HTC One!

I'm sure Samsung can take the hit - if you could call it a hit. I would like to see HTC do well, they can't catch a break these days despite making good/great phones.

It's very evenly matched between HTC and Samsung this year. Both have their weaknesses so no clear cut winner.

HTC need to sort out their stock and build issues though, Still not got my dad's One yet and my S4 should be here Friday if I'm lucky.

No word from 3 yet. Need to know which morning I should ask to work from home on. Do they not have forums? Can't seem to find one.

My current O2 contract switched to the new T & Cs when I got my Xperia S so unlimited data was gone and they gave me 1Gb. Struggled for the first few months but adjusted, got a text yesterday saying I had reached my limit (fortunately the reset day is today). God I will not miss patchy signal, calls cutting off for no reason and a download limit one bit!

I can't wait until these phones start coming through.

Watching the Haves and the Have Nots posting here will be entertaining !

Fingers crossed I get mine before the weekend is out ;)

Yeah watch this thread explode. I think the One thread has a few more pages, come Friday this might compete with the 'random image thread' :p

Fingers crossed for all, trying to budget - a phone arriving this side of the weekend would help a lot

Nexus - assume you went with the One in the end? Lost track.

I thought you were sticking with your S3 LTE? When did you change your mind :p

Not as detailed as the HTC one review but still better than the majority of other reviews anyway :p

Interesting that he mentions about throttling, don't think the other sites have mentioned that (not read the others that were posted today yet), guess that is the price you pay for having a higher OC and using plastic (aluminium would act as a heatsink)

The thing is, the HTC one is running 4.1.2 where as 4.2.2 is on the GS 4, so once the htc one gets 4.2.2 and if it where oc, it would most likely be surpassing the gs 4 then.

Supposedly the HTC one with the newest version of 1.29 scores this in sunspider:

750ms

Not that benchmarks means much at all anyway :p

Either way Brain summed it up perfectly. Comes down to personal preference in the end as there is no clear cut winner.

Does anyone have any idea why this is being released on a Friday/Satuday? Just complicates things with weekend post. Would it not make more sense to release it on a Monday? Or is this pretty standard for phones? Last phone I got was my 3GS and that was a few weeks after release so I can't remember...

TBH I probably prefer the HTC on most fronts but the lack of exandable storage was a deal breaker for me. 32GB is nowhere near enough for my needs!
