Rumoured to be a paper launch, stock not due for 2-3 weeks.

To be fair they have enough stock now to satisfy demand

I just have to wonder what the price would have been if Titan weren't released.
Good point. Mind you, as someone said, I can see the price dropping after not too long. I really can't see it maintaining that sort of premium for a more lengthy period.![]()

I think the price would have been the same. Remember it's not competing against the Titan but the 690. If the Titan didn't exist the 690 would still be there at the £900 price point.

Yes. However the 690 is not at £900 price point (for a good while already), they are at just little under £800 now.
Is it actually worth spending that much money on dual gpus when we know that next gen high end single solutions would easily match more or less the current dual gpus performance for much less price. I mean the 7970GHz matches 6990, doesn't it?
I don't see the point of getting a 7990 even at same price as 2x7970, the 7990 should seat between 2x7950 and 2x7970... something around £600.
2x 7970 uses 2 boards, more components, you need to take care of 2 boxes, 2x acessories, 2x handling and freight.... so all this should compensate the premium price of having 2 gpus in one card.
not to talk about the fact that when it come the time to sell your cards, you will get more money out of 2x7970 than 1x7990
I am surprised there has not been more comment on the poor driver support
This website has the right idea
A performance summary with all the games included (for the Nvidia fanboys)

And a second performance summary with all the games taken out where xfire does not work. (for the AMD fanboys)

My real point is why did AMD launch the card before they sorted the drivers.
Your first link: with All games included (for the Nvidia fanboys)
At 2560 x 1600 the 7990 is faster than Titan and 4% behind the GTX 680.
