We are expecting a allocation of stock on the 26th, the volume of stock is not confirmed as of yet as this is allocated by the distributor, we have ordered more than enough to cover the pre orders but of course it is down to if Samsung have manufactured enough to allocate enough to cover across the board, as you can imagine every mobile phone company in the Uk has ordered a massive amount of the handsets and i would imagine as with the launch of every new phone the manufactures tend to provide a percentage of the ordered stock on launch.

We Should have a confirmed volume we are going to receive by end of play tomorrow, but we expect all pre orders to be fulfilled with in 14 days of the 26th.

We will contact you to confirm the delivery date as soon as possible.

nothing from EE on my upgrade bar some other welcom texts etc (over due upgrade from T mobile) I hope i do get a unit on friday as I could have upgraded my handset back in october.

Am I the only one who doesn't give a crap it's plastic? The plastic feels fine, doesn't feel "cheap". Plus 99% of them will be in a case so why does it even matter? My SGS2 was criticised because it was made from plastic but it's still in once piece despite being out of a case and it doesn't get cold in winter:p

On the phone with T-Mobile now... no one is getting an S4 from them this Friday :(

They are dispatching them starting Saturday, so the absolute earliest we will get them is Monday but likely later. I ordered on 3rd April and I'm not in the first batch.

Currently on hold while they work out what compensation they are going to give me...

EDIT: They can't compensate me as the date has not yet past, so I've got to phone back when I don't get it on Friday

I'm with you. I understand metal looks nicer in some cases (HTC One for example) but once my S4 is in a case, will it really matter?

I don't think people really care too much about the material used but the finish/texture that Samsung go for in comparison to HTC with the one X and nokia with their handsets, you don't see any/many reviews/users complaining about them.

Imo the finish/design is what gives a "cheap" look/feel, not the material itself. I am more than happy with "plastic" and a phone being made out of aluminium wouldn't be important enough to sway me towards one device completely.

And I think it is more so just because people are getting tired of the glossy plastic and similar design since they have been using it since the GS 1 and just want "change" especially when they see what the competition are coming out with.

Just run a file over it, that'll take the gloss off ;)

I can see your point, if you want a matte effect or something but the iphone is shiny metal and people love that :D

One issue with such a lot of addition to the UI is the speed at which they can update to the latest Android version, the more alterations they add the more things they have to make sure work before they update. Might be a issue for future android updates.
