Alienware m18x or m17x r4?

Outlet store had a good spec R4 today:

Saw that one and went for it without looking at spec. thought I had it as the captcha took a while before giving me that stupid message it's reserved by another customr. Ahhhhhhhh!!

Going away for a month soon and really want to have an R4 to travel with.

Absolutely gutted!

Just stripped my R3 only to find out there's no msata port!!! WTF?

Seriously thinking about a M18X R2 now

Cammy, I think you only get mSata if the laptop originally came with such a drive. Don't think the daughter board is included if you don't get one with it. Not 100% sure but think that's right.

There's an M18x R2 floating on the outlet today but it's pretty basic spec. Don't think there were any R4's today.

There was no were to plug a daughter board in on my machine (R3)

I think its R4 onwards that you can use msata

am I missing something because I cant see any R4 or M18 R2 on the outlet just what was there this morning?

Sorry Cammy, looks like it's gone. It was going in and out of people's basket all afternoon. Tbh, I've seen a few recently for only £200 more but with a 2nd 7970 and Blu-Ray.

Yeah, the Alienware range could all do with matte black screen Tereu. The aluminium idea would be good too as the weight wouldn't be too much more but give it a real feeling of class and substance.

The m17x R2 was aluminium.
then the m18 came out and the R3 turned to plastic and m18 went aluminium

Theres an alienware m18x r2 that is new to the outlet, but it 'only' has the 675m in it. £1120 including vat

There was a new 17'' r4 and r2 on the outlet today. They were gone so fast I didnt get to look at the specs of either of them.
