My car's been stolen (Quick! To the internets!)

So... what generally happens in cases like this? How would it have been stolen without the keys? And what you would thieves do to shift it? It's only worth a few thousand so seems like a lot of effort to steal it and try and shift for a few k.

Quite easy, they could have just lifted it onto a low loader, broke in, maybe you left it unlocked, maybe they had the codes for the central locking (there are ways around this).

maybe they just want a joyride ? or some parts

Its only a car at the end of the day.

What would him going completely spastic over it achieve? Not a great deal.

Exactly. The whole reason I have GAP insurance over the top of my regular insurance is so that in such an eventuality, I don't really care.

It can take up to 2 months, they may need MOT and service history (for valuation)
Not nice, I went on holiday and came home to a trashed house and stolen car found burnt out and stolen fuel, speeding, parking fines (about 7).

watch you dont get lured into a potentially costly replacement car btw

insurers are always out to profit from our losses

tried it on with me when my FN2 was damaged, offered me a golf GTI as a like for like then tried to charge me the extra over a bog std 1.0 ltr courtesy car, luckilly I had an e-mail trail of correspondense or they might have humped me for an additional £500 notes

I'm paying 50p extra a day for a 1.2 Corsa instead of some Chevrolet thing I could barely twist my legs into.

The insurance company is offering £4,900 in payment for the car. Black '56 plate Skoda Fabia vRS (w/cruise control, heated seats and CD multichanger), just under 65k on the clock, in good condition, one owner. Did have a full service history but it was in the car.

Should I accept?
