I found a way of seeing what sort of share of the market a card has, but it is only a very rough guide.
Go onto 3dmark11 and do a search for all results for whichever cards you are interested.
For example there are 229354 GTX 680 results and 188544 HD 7970 results.
This will not give the number of cards sold but will give a rough idea of market share.
Just getting back on track.....
Anyone going to pick one up when available?
Nvidia about 60% AMD about 40%
So that reflects it pretty well.
Where are the reviews running 2 in quadfire.![]()
The price of this card is just flat out comicalI wonder if AMD's pricing discussion went like this?:
AMD1: Our new 7990 is so cool, its like a modern day 4870X2!
AMD2: Yeah, should we set the price at double what a single card costs like we did with the 4870X2?
AMD1: Trolololololol nope, set it at double what a 4870X2 cost, that will make us more money
AMD2: You sure? only the fanboys are likely to pay that much, hell its what the unofficial 7990s cost!
AMD1: Your right, better add another £200 on to make sure the fanboys see how awesome it is![]()
Its all Nvidias fault
"I like the way some forum members blame nVidia for the 7990s pricing.
If nVidia price something highly they're terrible people whereas if AMD price something highly it's nvidia's fault. You really couldn't make it up. Some of the fanboyism is actually extremely funny to read."
Yes it's definitely nVidia's fault that AMD decided to price their graphics card as such.

It is Nvidias fault as they started the silly high prices imho
If AMD started raising their prices to silly high levels and nvidia followed suit then it would be the other way around.
When did Nvidia start the silly high pricing?
Well i have just ordered the W/C 7990 from here and it should arrive in the next few days.
Will post pictures and benches soon.
