I really wanted one, put it in my basket but took it out again. Even with the 7.5% it just isn't worth the cost to me.
Where are the reviews running 2 in quadfire.
The price of this card is just flat out comical 
I wonder if AMD's pricing discussion went like this?:
AMD1: Our new 7990 is so cool, its like a modern day 4870X2!
AMD2: Yeah, should we set the price at double what a single card costs like we did with the 4870X2?
AMD1: Trolololololol nope, set it at double what a 4870X2 cost, that will make us more money
AMD2: You sure? only the fanboys are likely to pay that much, hell its what the unofficial 7990s cost!
AMD1: Your right, better add another £200 on to make sure the fanboys see how awesome it is

Well... Nvidia started the trend. AMD followed. Easy to see who started it and whos fault it is. Simple logic.

If my competitor priced something that sold well, and my product was just as good. i would follow the example and do the same.
So yes its nvidias fault
AMD released the 7970 at over £450 = Nvidia's fault (GTX 580 was £350).
Only AMD decided what to price the 7970 at and likewise with the 7990.
Maybe if AMD hadn't released the 7970 at such a high price, Nvidia wouldn't have followed suit and we would have cheaper top end cards.
Look at your beloved AMD for pricing before casting the blame onto Nvidia Diagro. Nvidia do not dictate what AMD charge.

If AMD started raising their prices to silly high levels and nvidia followed suit then it would be the other way around.
