DisplayMate tests Galaxy S4 screen, gives it the thumbs up

Interesting news about the screen brightness!

when Automatic Brightness is turned on, the Peak Brightness becomes significantly brighter in high ambient lighting than is possible with Manual Brightness, up to as high as 475 cd/m2, which is 34 percent higher than is possible with Manual Brightness. This is done so that users can’t permanently set the brightness to very high values, which would run down the battery quickly.

Looks like an excellent upgrade in everything compared to the GS 3 screen.

The Galaxy S4 display is a major enhancement and improvement over the Galaxy S III – a good reason to consider trading up. The screen has Full HD 1920x1080 resolution with more than double the number of pixels and with 44 percent higher Pixels Per Inch than the Galaxy S III. It is 25 percent brighter (and up to 68 percent brighter with Automatic Brightness) and the display is 20 percent more power efficient. The Galaxy S4 also has 5 user selectable Screen Modes and delivers much better picture quality and color accuracy.

If only there were more phones with this display :(

Am I being special? Where is the sim card? I can't see one in here. Also does the main body of the eco box detach from the rest of the box - it looks like there could be something below but doesn't want to budge.

Special - very special. Didn't see the bag had some other bits and bobs in it.

I thought Three had sent me the wrong sim as it wasn't a micro sim and came in PAYG packaging! Then I found the actual sim in the bag! Moment of panic there!

My Xperia S showing me why I am getting rid of it, spazzing out left, right and centre just taking some pics. Clearly jealous!

This screen is jaw dropping.

Finally hi-res contact pictures :D

And another 48GB for my Dropbox :D:D

LOL Someone purporting to be an employee of a well known phone company has five to sell at a bargain price on Gumtree.

Held up fairly well in sunlight, a lot better than my Xperia S. Runs great but I still notice the odd skip or bump in some of the animations - usually pressing the home button.
