So yeah, got myself a PS2 off a known auction site with all the Gran Turismo games, even the first and second for the PlayStation.

The gameplay is utterly outstanding, seriously, game devs should really aim to have driving similar to this so my question being....

What more recent PC racing games similar to Gran Turismo do you know of?

rFactor
Live For Speed
Auto Club Revolution
Project Cars

They are the only racing games that I believe come close to GT on the PC

rFactor looks ok, Live of Speed and Auto Club Revo just look like free2play games that most likely have a bunch of MT's in them.

Anything else? Really need a good driving game similar to GT :(.

Give ACR a chance. I suck at racing games anyway and my Xbox pad has been otherwise engaged, but it seems great from my keyboard fumblings

There are pc racing games with far more realistic handling than the GT series.

There are not really any pc games that have you collecting and upgrading cars other than shift2 and the old street legal games

It is not the realstic handling that makes it good, just the fact that each car feels as if it actually has a weight, a feel. It might not be as real as life but is far better than NFS that has you taking corners at 150mph.

The only NFS of recent I have enjoyed is Underground 2, good car collection/customization and being fair the gameplay was not terrible.

Don't like the look of Shift 2, number one was terrible and NFS games have went downhill since they brought the first most wanted out.

Live For Speed has the same gameplay feel you should at least try the free version but in my mind it's the type of thing you are describing in terms of the cars feeling weighty.

I'd wait for Asseto Corsa. It might not have the volume of cars that Gran Turismo has, but it has a similar look and feel. Although I only played it with a wheel, game pad support will be included as well as enough assists to make it as playable or as realistic as you want.

It will also be modable from the start so the community could add a lot if content, whether or not this will be free I don't know.

There's a decent thread here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18355863

When i asked the same thing, the main answers were NFS Shift 2 and GRiD.

Imo they are not very close.

Just ended up buying GT5 for my PS3.

I agree, the best thing to do if you want to play Gran Turismo type game is to just play Gran Turismo.

But having played all of the games mentioned, as well as GT5 on the PS3, then I'd say Assetto Corsa feels as close to GT5 on the PC as I've played.

I always wondered why Microsoft didn't bring the Forza series to PC, they'd of been perfect.
Because Microsoft don't appear to give a crap about pc gaming as long as they can milk their console and there are no viable alternative operating systems for windows.

I agree with the few posts above TBH, If you want a GT type game grab a ps3 slim 12gb for like £140 and a copy of GT5, sell the console on when your bored of GT5.

Sometimes you get PS3's going on the members market for around £90
