All this pessimism. With the new engine this game could turn out to be the best COD since MW2!

Looks like Sledgehammer aren't working on this game according to this article.
I have a feeling that now there will be 3 dev teams making COD games and they'll have 3 years development time instead of 2. Which can only be a good thing really.
 
I got to say I'm more interested in Respawn Entertainment (original IW) showing up at E3 in June. Also they have already stated they won't be turning up empty handed either. Now that hopefully will be something to look forward too.

Same, I was always a COD man til BLOPS2 was announced, got myself BF3 premium instead and haven't looked back. Although EA try their best to ruin it, it's so much more engaging and realistic than COD. Played my bros BLOPS2, they have guns with some wierd heat seeker sight so every1 runs around hip firing headshots, fun in that? BF4 for me

I'm looking forward to seeing their game as well. It'll be out next year i'm guessing just before COD comes out. So I can get BF4 this year and Respawn's game next year.
 
I will not be getting this (unless its exceptional) as I will be getting BF4.

However, isn’t the rumour that they are building a totally new engine for this game?
 
I wonder if head glitching will make a return with a new engine?
It's possible in current games because it's a product of the engine used,yet the devs seem to incorporate it into map designs now. All the silly little barrels and stuff that people can hide behind and head glitch.
 
I bet whatever engine they use still has that glitch.

The Battlefield Frostbite 2 engine does for example and thats built from the ground up very recently. Just about every FPS game engine allows head glitching.
 
Yea, cheap tactics are heavily ingrained in CoD now. They would lose too much of their (underage) playerbase if they fixed things like that.

The positively encourage the quickscoping and cheapness and build it into the game to reward the scrubs who go 3-19 every game.

Single player for this seems like it could be interesting, especially as they've said America have had their forces all but wiped out and you play as an underdog against an invading force. Spec Ops missions have big potential too, I'd like to see them up the player count from 2 to maybe 3 or 4 though. :)
