*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

Got mine today. Device was at my workplace before I was. Love the screen. Just need a mobile signal now...

Screen is a big upgrade from the iPhone 4S. Makes it seem pretty old. I need to customise it as most the widgets will not be much use for me. I want to wait until I can get it on the internet though so I can see what does what.

Orage say they are using UKMail who will contact me the day before its due to come with a delivery slot which if not suitable I can change. Anyone had one from orange and is this the case?

Just been told its now going to be Thursday 9th when i get my phone, Unbelievably mad, i have no working phone, i sold my s2 on ebay so it ended a few days after i should have got my s4, sent it off to the buyer on tuesday, been told around 5 different dates by MPD, feel like contacting trading standards on the matter

I got mine from EE who are the same company and also used UK Mal.

They give me a 4 hour delivery window. I think that once you have your tracking number, you can go onto the UKMail website and amend the delvery day but not sure.

I ordered mine yesterday with O2 on their Refresh contract and its coming tomorrow. It's £429.99 for the phone over 24 months £15 a month, but you can pay it off whenever you want, so you can upgrade. The call tariff is £22 a month unlimited calls, text and 2 GB data.

Thanks, so it is £429 for the handset in total and £22 pm for the line rental?
Best deal over 12 months is with phones4u on vodafone: £160 for the handset and £39 pm line rental and £100 cashback with quidco, dont use many mins or data (just emails) mainly wifi...

Brian really doesn't seem to like the SAMOLED panel though, it is a bit deceiving the way Samsung have that "adobe RGB" preset........ also it is so true what he says about the sub pixel arrangement, it isn't really a "pentile" arrangement, just isn't RGB. So people can't bring "pentile" up as being a con! :p :D

No listened to the podcast yet Nexus,

why doesn't he like it - just because of the preset? It's not called adobe anymore on the phone, its now labeled as professional.

Mines on Orange but from Dialaphone. Orederd on Wednesday. Arrived this morning just after 8AM. Parcel force delivered mine. It was in a Pre-1PM bag.

Would you mind messaging me via trust with a link please? I can only find s view covers for about £30

Too busy and didn't save a link, check xda s4 accessories section, I've looked at the items on both eb n am having seen them mentioned on xda. Do your amazon search using the i9505 designation, "s view i9505 window" also set a 0 to 15 price range, they might be on the US eb or amazon but that's no problem.

I can't for the life of me work out how to turn off the keyboard sound, you know the tick tick noise when you type, driving me nut's, I want it silent when I type.

G'morning all,

So last night was the first night me and my SGS4 spent together. We went to be about midnight, she's was fully charged.

I wake up this morning and she's only 92% charged.

Should I have left it on charge all night for the first charge? Or are there other energy saving tips/hints that some of you have that you may wish to share with me? On iOS you used to just double click and then hold down the apps on the pop up bar at the bottom to stop the apps being 'active' and therefore save battery but I can't find a similar function on the SGS4.

Tips would be very much appreciated.

Phone tips, not bedroom tips.

How long did you sleep for? If it's 8 hours then 8% use suggests 100 hours standby which is usable. Anyway just leave it plugged in over night. Also on Android even if you close the apps in the task manager processes can still run in the background.

One of the advantages of Android is that you can view detailed battery information on the settings page and see what is using it.
