You sure you haven't got the energy saving feature checked on the s4? Its under power options rather than screen options.

The phone case industry dies once flexible shatterproof screens arrive, as a flip case user I acknowledge all the drawbacks but I don't want to be in your position:( bad luck dude.
 
Had a play with one today and wow, the size doesnt feel bad at all, in fact it feels smaller than the S3. The texture on the plastic is horrible though, no idea who at Samsung thought that it would be a good idea to use it. Screen seemed very nice and sharp, and you can even browse OCUK forms fully zoomed out when you increase the text size.
 
I'm actually really pleased with the auto brightness on mine (I have it auto +5); it works great outside. I'm hoping my replacement has the same brightness but without the bloody pink tint!

inside it aint great, the s3 is much better, hate having to keep unticking auto when inside, its really dim on auto +5 its silly
 
When people are commenting about there only being 9GB space for apps... On my HTC One X if I go into settings, storage, and the top section says app storage, I only have 6.76GB available to begin with

Is this the same section of storage that is 9GB on the S4? If so that's fine for me then as I have a few MB free on my One X but I have to admit I have had the 'insufficient storage available' message a few times so the extra 2GBish would be nice with the S4

yes all the free internal space can be used for apps

Alright because I have 25GB of phone storage on my One X and 6GB of app storage but apps can be moved to the phone storage in the settings

I was reading here somewhere that this was not the case with the S4?

Out of interest have you got a black or white S4? If it's black, how's it holding up for small scratches etc on the back or is it in a case?

There is only 9 GB free on the S4 after all the bloat and other stuff.

I'm 99% sure that you can use all the space - see bottom of pic

I have the black model but keep it immaculate so no scratches yet.

Yeah that 7.7GB will be enough for me ... I think what I was reading was possibly about people expecting there to be more of the 16GB available for app storage

And sounds good :) Black definitely beats the white! Haha
