What film did you watch last night?

The Last Stand

Arnie's comeback movie - and thankfully they got the right mix of fun and action to make it a great popcorn flick, ideal to switch the brain off to and just have a good time.

8/10.

Parker. Well you get what you expect but ultimately 5/10
Its a disaster. Mildly amusing. Two brilliant lines in particular. 5/10
12 angry men. Good but really great? 8/10

Godfather

First time I've ever seen it. I feel ashamed to say I found it all rather dull. I can appreciate it for what it is and it being a classic, but it was just a bit boring

Max Payne - 3/10

Load of rubbish, yet another film adaptation of a game that bears no real resemblance to the source material. They didn't even try to match it to the noire style of the games really. The highlights were Olga Kurylenko and Mila Kunis.

Safe, mindless fun. 6/10
Equilibrium, liked the idea and for a low budget action film was pretty god. 6/10

The Hobbit- 8/10

It was pretty good. One thing I realized was that I remember almost nothing of The Hobbit, which I must have read about 15 years ago, as I barely recognized any of it, and had no idea what was going to happen.

I think bits that I recall involve

traveling down a river, in a barrel
A guy who turns in to a bear
And iirc, Bilbo talks to the dragon at some point?

I didn't remember a thing about the quest they were on though.

Watched it earlier today. Quite good I thought 7 or 8/10. Like you I read the book, perhaps 15-16 years ago. Couldn't remember a thing of it though! :D

The Numbers Station - www.imdb.com/title/tt1659338/

John Cusack in a role similar to that of his earlier classic Grosse Pointe Blank where he plays a suited hitman.

Really disappointed. Very slow with no real build up or change of pace.

5/10 because he plays a convincing hitman, but overall the film sucked.

Star Trek. A lot better than expected, I am not really a trekkie so approached it with an open mind and found it entertaining by and large with a reasonable blend of action and humour. Felt like not a lot happened though which is somewhat disappointing from this type of film which you normally expect to have an epic plot.

Watched it too.

Was entertaining even though I am not a trekkie (seen maybe part of an episode like 10 years ago).

I watched two films last night, most unlike me!

Argo - 7/10, but I think this is more down to my expectation. I think I was thinking this would be more of an action thriller. Was pretty good though.

Les Miserables - 8/10, I'm not usually one for watching musical films but I'm yet to see this at the theatre. Quite a strong cast in this as well and there's one particular bit where I thought Anne Hathaway was particularly good

The bit where's she's just cut her hair off and had her teeth pulled out and has just slept with the sailor/captain - the solo screen bit there.
