** Star Trek Into Darkness **Spoilers!!**

Watched it a few hours ago, thought it was amazing tbh, much better than the first and better than Iron Man 3. Surprised some people didn't enjoy it, but then again I loved and thought voyager series was by the far the best and everyone seems to think that was the worse series lol.

Just back from watching this in 3D

Jesus H T F Christ ....... did JJ spend his youth staring at the SUN ????

Every minute or two a flipping Lens flare shot rears its ugly head , it really annoying , it really detracts from enjoying the movie :(

Pretty good , but lens flare overload

and......

Spock crying and screaming Khaaaaaan! That was really cringeworthy, the original Kirk and Spock would have never done that.

I'm just going to leave this here as I'm not sure if you're serious. :D

Is the 12a rating justified? My 11 year old daughter is desperate to watch it?

I'd happily let my 10 year old watch it. No more violent than Transformers with the odd P and S word thrown in.

Edit: The worst thing is it has some very loud and very tense scenes. If she's seen the first one, then she will be fine I reckon.

No onscreen gore whatsoever she should be fine the only slightly nasty thing which happens is someone kicks alice eves character which was a little brutal & OTT when she was so passive & sweet in the movie

Check out the BBFC site, usually has a plot run through (maybe avoid for spoilers) but it can usually be a good stick to measure if a film is suitable or not.

Link.

Personally, other than some curse words it's pretty fine, the violence is not that violent nor realistic either.

On the actual film? I really, really enjoyed it :).

As I was leaving, I looked up at the credits and I am sure it mentioned Jennifer Morrison and Chris Hemsworth as Kirk's parents, but can't remember any point in the film that there even were flash backs?

After Khan is defeated we cut to black where comments from Kirks Life are heard in the background before we see him wake up I'm guessing because they used the Actors voices from the 1st film Though whether they were paid for this or really deserved ending credits for this is debatable

Is there plenty of shots of the enterprise, beaming up and general trek tech?
Not really the enterprise has less screen time than the last movie the beaming is also very brief & the general trek tech is also very brief. Editing is very quick fire here.

So it has to be exactly the same as the original characters? That would be rather boring.

Watched it this afternoon, really enjoyed it, like the direction they are taking.

I also think the difference between the original and the new is good, obviously they have experienced different things so will be different people. Just like you or I would.

This was a good film, the actors do a great job once again of portraying the original cast.

But it was not perfect. Little character development of any note and in my opinion some silly story choices I found undermined the identity of the reboot.
