I've done the O2 £430 thing today. Will call and cancel air time during the week. I'll let you know how it goes.

Unfortunately, the first one had a row of dead pixels, so now I have to pay another £8 to unlock the SIM.

My phone is now network unlocked.

The ebay seller got back to me with this info:

I know what was wrong now!

The method mentioned in XDA for unlocking was the following:
*#0011#
Select back
Select key input, enter 1
Press [1] DEBUG SCREEN
Press [6] PHONE CONTROL
Press [6] NETWORK LOCK
Press [3] PERSO SHA256 OFF

Now this method didn't work on my phone (it is reported to work for many people) so that's why I bought a code from you.

The reason it didn't work was because the SHA256 was still off, as a last test today I did the above except the last stage I selected [2] PERSO SHA256 ON

Inserted the other operators sim and entered the unlock code, it works!!

Too risky in that I'm already paying a monthly fee, and the hassle of hoping it an still be cancelled and you can get the phone for X amount, then unlocking & will that affect updates etc.. at a later date..

I'm going for a sim free pre-unlocked for sure when I do so!
 
I know what you mean about the risk, but as the guy in the shop said "we can't advertise that you can cancel whenever you want, and then not do it".

Unlocking definitely wont affect updates.

Thanks, this helped me as I've been mucking about with the built in unlock (with no joy) and then my code wouldn't work, until I did what you quotes.
 
AndyCr15 could I ask you to take a photo or 2 of your CB1r with the s4 please?:D

Would truly make my day as I want a CB1r in those colours!


Ps Hmmm exhaust video too maybe? (mic test hehe)

Now I understand why it didn't work 1st time for me - because I tried the free method like you did and changed a setting. Good thing is I got a free unlock out of it :D

Downloading MDM is a right PITA :mad:

First DL was corrupted and second once borked at 91% DL. ffs!

Hello, anyone here get their phone from unlocked-mobiles? Got mine from them: first price £530, then changed to £555. Ok so phone seemed to be a German one, but they loaded it with a uk plug to compensate for the 2 pin charger it came with - I'm kinda ok with this although the charger looks cheap.

But today I've noticed this cheap looking black charger is only 1 amp!!!!! So now I need to buy a new charger! No saving whatsoever buying from this dodgy site!!!

Yeah, I won't do it again and I'll never recommend unlocked-mobiles.com!!!


Oh and the cheap looking, unbelievably slow charger they packed with the phone also has a constant hiss and an incredibly bright unnecessary red LED. It's like they're trying to annoy me in as many ways possible with this thing! :eek:
