It wasnt the DAC that let it down (well, let it down the most), imo, it was the output impedance of the amp section. Far FAR too high to drive just about anything properly at about 42ohms or there abouts. No DAC would have solved that.

I have not noticed any distortion but I will use them in work tonight and see if they do or do not. (Oh the S4 has a drastically higher volume than the Nexus S but I do not listen to it on full whack.

Ahh interesting, i believe they are rated at 16ohms. keep us posted :)
 
I must be in the minority lol - I never listen to music on my phone.

The SQ from my Sony mp3 player has spoilt me too much.

No wonder it sounded so dreadful :(

I used to think it was my headphones but when I switched to the HOS and used the same headphones I realised that it was the S2. The difference in sound was so noticeable it totally threw me and couldn't go back to using the S2 for music playback.

Maybe a bit premature considering Google I/O starts tomorrow but I've pulled the trigger on the S4. :)

Used a discount voucher (yet again) so I got it at a decent price.

Sony mp3 players are great when it comes to sound quality Mate :D how much memory does your player have?

You can't have too many cases! I had 6 for my S3 LTE! :eek:

16GB. I'm a sucker for hardware buttons too for my music player.

I have a few for the S3 lol - but you have 2 Spiegens! (sp) - posh **** :p
 
Really like that spigen case, can't find it for the one S at all :( (area where one S sucks, hardly any accessories to choose from compared to galaxy devices)

Currently have 4 cases and don't use any of them :p

have the rock case on at the minute, but I'll be taking it of soon....... again

Those hardware buttons are awesome! I wish I had hardware buttons on mine but unfortunately they're capacative :(

It's a habit of mine (strange) :o for some reason I always have quite a few cases for my phone at the time. Spigen's are great I've always used them since having the S2 and they've never let me down. Good protection and great looking cases ;)

Spigen only seem to make cases for the Iphone and Samsung range of phones which is a shame. In fact they've only just released a crystal TPU case for the HO :eek:

The HOS is a beauty and shouldn't be hidden in a case so I'm not surprised that you're about to take the Rock case off and don't use any of the others.

Won't you be bothered about seeing the damage that your HOS has acquired from your little accident a little while back? :mad::eek:
 
The damage isn't too bad, only a few nicks and they are only really noticeable under certain lighting conditions and angles. A black sharpie pen worked wonders for the main noticeable chip :D

Some people over at XDA have been using Sharpies to touch up their Black HO's

edit off topic seeing as a few of us have Sony mp3 players, here's a picture of mine. I never use it though :eek:
