Metro Last Light issues... &%!&£"&%!&"

try this

Amd cards flickering fix. Navigate to %LOCALAPPDATA%4A GamesMetro LL and open user.cfg with text editor.
Locate line r_api 2 and change it to r_api 0 for DirectX 9 renderer.
Change user.cfg to read-only to prevent the game overwriting changes.

maybe till they fix it with new patch may work.

I don't have AMD cards, I use GTX670 SLI and the flickering isn't ingame shadows, it's constantly, even from the video the second the game starts up.

You mentioned OSD a few times.

Tried running without that? Or are you just referring to the OSD for checking SLI use?

I am, use it to monitor my cards.

try this, throw your Nvidia cards out of the nearest window and order a pair of amd cards;):D

9970 is fast approaching...

edit// I'll try with the second monitor unplugged. Report back soon guys.

Always these Nvidia/AMD bs comments

You played this on AMD yet? Also flickering stuff. It's just another poo game that runs like a dog atm. No matter if you use nvidia or AMD.

I get 100+ fps in places and all of a sudden down to 28 etc. (7970)

no I was just kidding, don't take it personally;)

I get the odd shadow flicker and that's all

I get the same flicker using the latest beta drivers which are meant for this game !

If I use the WHQL ones it works fine in Sli and both my 670's are working fine no downclocking.

Which ones are they mate? 314.22? Tried em and they're shoddy as hell with this game :(

They are the latest non betas on the site not sure on number as not near pc. It seemed to run ok but will have a better play later.

how are you guys running the game it's not out yet?

EDIT: and it's on torrent sites. Well done guys you are helping the games industry loads.

Or maybe VPN? Either way I'm waiting for release and then maybe I can join in bitching about drivers and optimisation, but hopefully not.

Seems to be conflicting stories about optimisation though. A lot are saying it's the best optimisation they have seen in a long time and it runs better than 2033 and then we have this thread. /shrug

When it runs, it runs very smooth and WAY better than what Metro 2033 does. I think the issues are with Nvidia drivers, rather than the game. :(

Cool!! I actually can't wait till this weekend \o/ Hopefully there will be drivers sorted by then :)

The game industry needs to help its self out.
If they actually made polished and proper games with no bugs WHAT SO EVER, less people would pirate.
The people who would in anycase, who cares, they are going to do it regardless.

Import SLI profiles from 320.14 to 314.22 and problem is fixed. :)

edit// As soon as PhysX is on however, it craps out... :@

This may be of interest - taken off Guru3D

Update : Small tip from our forum user S.t.a.l.k.e.r : It should be noted that there is currently a bug (Either in the game or in the software)
that can cut your FPS by more than 50% and GPU usage by the same if you are running Logitech Gaming Software
(For Keyboards like the G19, G15 and other Logitech devices).
Disable the LCore.exe process before running the game.

That sounds like a justification for pirating games tbh. These developers work hard to bring games to PC, then AMD and Nvidia have to get drivers up to spec.

It may take a lil while to get the updates out, but after a couple weeks what you have is a polished PC game that is a much better experience than on a console. If you don't think that it is worth your money than that is a different subject, I think they work hard for it. Am happy to pay 20 odd quid for something that will give me 30hours+ entertainment, that's way more than I would get from a BluRay or any other form of media entertainment..

People need to stop being tight, if your willing to spend out for nice hardware then buy the games as well, there the reason you buy the hardware in the first place. Wish there was less whinging and more support for the industry.. They'll get my money anyway.

Hi, guys.

Wanted to let you know that a new patch to Metro: Last Light has hit Steam with several optimizations for AMD Radeon graphics products. We collaborated extensively with Metro's developers to include these optimizations for the Graphics Core Next architecture, and they're designed in a manner that benefits AMD products without compromising the performance of NVIDIA products. Radeon customers will find that these optimizations are quite significant, substantially elevating performance across the entire HD 7000 Series of products.

We are continuing to assess the performance of MLL, and our own software developers are working quite hard with 4A Games to find additional improvements of this sort. :)
