Will we see Nintendo publishing on the PC?

Last Nintendo i got was a SNES, i know one person with a wii and i have never seen them use it nor did they ever say anything good about it.

Even online on place like you tube there censoring people from posting vids about them (good or bad) even taking down vids from the likes of nerd3 and Zero Punctuation removing free advertising and if one one is chatting about your product no one will be buying your product.

Let them die, the classic games will still be there.

If nintendo released their old n64 games on the iPad with multiplayer options it would sell like hotcakes

Imagine Goldeneye multiplayer between 4 friends connected through the apple games app on seperate ipads playing together :D :D :D

Nintendo have always survived, and always had people slate them, for them to only succeed afterwards.

The Wii U is about 6 months old, and still has exclusives to come. The 3DS went through the same phase and came out with everyone wanting one.

As much as a Nintendo geek that I am, I've not bought the Wii U (mainly due to financial reasons), but I don't think you'll see the last of them for quite a while.

the wii u is over already.

next i dont think they would do pc stuff but you never know.

a lot of gamers do like nintendo as they do push creative side of gaming .

If they bring out a good VR console, that works (Virtual Boy I'm looking at you), then they will win everything.

over as in not very good :p

most kids or the initial success innovation was the wii. nintendo thought they would hoover up with the wii u but that was a bad idea and too quick. the console is a big failure by there standards.

also the new consoles launch so people wont entertain the wii u at all now unless they pull some mega fun games out in succession and price it right which they'll probably lose a lot of money on.

i own every nintendo console barring the wii u :D i guess that says it all tbh :p

Not sure what is up with Nintendo at the moment they really need to sort themselves out or suffer a slow lingering death.

Despite everything the Nintendo consoles are still seen as kids consoles, I don't know anyone over 20 who has one. Stop with the gimmicks like 3D screens, tablets and just put out some decent adult games out on reasonably priced consoles!

Why would you buy a new console for around £300 and new games for around £40 to play games that look like ancient 360 games? sometimes even worse.

Nintendo does still seem to be doing well in the handheld market though and thats one thing they have always done well.

Over as in a success or over as in deceased?

Over as in deceased.
I did not even know there was a wii U till i seen this topic. and if you google what i would say is the biggest high street shop for these types of things they only show 2 games. its been out 6 months? but only has 2 games in the biggest high street dealer i would say its all ready dead long ago.

Also £300 sort of rrp prices? for a gameboy in 2013? i was just price checking the PS vita's as well and there like £200+ or so.. seems expansive compared to well tablets and laptops which are more useful day to day.

i think theyre certainly on a dip and have been for a while now, their past two consoles havnt been adopted by serious gamers imo. the wii was great for kids and party or get fit stuff etc and the wii u is just in a funny wasteland which is a shame as i was hoping itd be great but i just cant see it competing.

anyway, i sure hope they started to let their games drift over, especially some of the older stuff!

They're so incompetent as a business they're sitting on a war chest of cash .

Not really.

Just because a company has some cash reserves doesn't mean they're being well run.
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

They've been making blunder after blunder and have huge untapped markets that they won't exploit because of their arrogance. That's a cultural thing perhaps.

Yeah. They're a really strong company.

I don't think they need to drop out of the console market entirely. They just need to accept that the 'main console' spot has sailed away from them. With their massive catalogue of popular gaming franchises, they could still have a very successful console if it is priced right. Forget multimedia. Forget next-gen. Just focus on getting a reasonably powerful (think Xbox 360) console to market for £99-£119. Others see a market here - Valve, OUYA, Gamestick - but they don't have Nintendo's hardware experience or their massive IP portfolio.

Whatever they do, they need to sort out development times. It takes Nintendo way too long to develop their games. They need a couple of big releases (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pokémon, Smash Bros, Mario Kart) every year, along with 3-5 smaller releases. If they don't manage this, no console of theirs is really worth buying. If they can't manage this, could they even thrive as a publisher?
