where did i say it was ok? :o it isn't what im trying to say is that i don't see this and i cycle through those roads EVERYDAY

ok the killed bit is a bit harsh, but an injury might change their ways.

Have you actually seen the statistics for the number of people killed or injured by people on bikes? It's flipping low! From memory I'm sure it was something like 3 in the last 10 years.
The fact is these guys are more likely to injure themselves or be killed themselves - by a car. Granted they're not doing anything to help matters there.

If it is proven to be factually correct then I have no issue with this, however until it is proven its not right.

Press get away with things to an extent but even they are required to prove things in fact or suffer the consequences.

but riding like that for the sake of a "race" may add to those stats needlessly.

3 in the last 10 years pull the other one, i can name 3 locally alone.

Then there was the one in London the other week. The number is far far higher than 3 in the last 10 years.

I grant that it's a rare thing to happen and not a reflection on everyday life on those streets, but it only takes one of those rare occasions to kill someone.

I'm surprised the copper didn't chase them or there wasn't more police presence in that vid.

stats only show those injuries seriously enough to warrant a hospital visit. there are many more that arent recorded or reported.

and those utter ***** that don't stop when someone is trying to cross at a zebra crossing , I've started just walking onto them and if I get hit it's not my fault people aren't paying attention to the road like they should be.

I'm sure half the people who drive aren't even aware of what the laws are...
Allow pedestrians plenty of time to cross and do not harass them by revving your engine or edging forward.

Most people tend to do the opposite and speed up hoping it will deter the person from crossing.

look out for pedestrians waiting to cross and be ready to slow down or stop to let them cross

Loads of ignorant drivers these days won't stop if you are clearly waiting to cross the road so you have to be forceful and make them stop

EDIT: oh wow you can get 3 points on your license and a fine for not obeying the zebra crossing rules :D

you'd be surprised how much police doesn't give a tosh about it :) i see cyclists run red lights at junctions in front of police and so on..

but one time i do it(not even a junction!!!) i get cut of by police van and fallowed for 3 miles lol.

Saying that you hope someone is seriously injured or killed projects the image that the person who says this does not fully comprehend and appreciate the value of life. A dangerous and reckless rider or driver has a similar view on life, a complete disregard for others and a showing of arrogance. This doesn't make it ok to hope their life comes to an end too, it makes you bring your morals down to their level.

I disagree with very little that you're saying. The vast majority of people, in my opinion, are selfish, short-sighted, and bitter. In an ideal world, these people would not exist.

However, this is a country whose political and legal system is underpinned by freedom. Unless an action is not allowed by law, you can do it. To me, this is more important than allowing keyboard warriors to hunt down every person they take issue with and ruin their life.

Accordingly, people should be punished for the crimes they commit. They should not be punished for their personality or beliefs, no matter how dislikeable they are. Nor should their punishment for crimes be increased due to their personality (except where it adds to a propensity to reoffend, for instance).

In short, it's the old "two wrongs don't make a right" rule. By ruining this girl's life without having authority under the law to do so, people are sullying their own morality.

I back peddled on the killed part. But if they was to plough into a side of a taxi go arse over tit and hurt them selves it "might" change their ways a bit.
