Girl hits cyclist then jokes about it on Twitter.

Cyclist are used to be knocked off by cars. Without a numberplate what is he going to report to Police anyway?

There is a bit of a difference between not being able to do anything and forgetting about t happening. I used to cycle myself, know plenty of cyclists (my Best Man runs a cycle shop) and none of them have been knocked off often enough to find it a forgettable event.

In the interview she claims he wasn't knocked off and she has nothing against cyclists yet this contradicts her tweet totally.

Either way she is a bit of a moron.

she's stitched herself by bragging about it and now identified trying to get out of it.
ban plus re-test and maybe a fine for dangerous and leaving the scene i would expect too.

To be honest it sounds like she had a close call, but stupidly made up the fact she knocked him off his bike to make an ill-judged attempt to be "edgy".

I reckon he's full of it, he won't have been knocked off. If he had he would have gone to the police station. If I'd been knocked off a bike I'd be straight down the police station. I'd be absolutely fuming.

Stupid tweet, tried to be cool and it backfired. Idiot in the lycra vest is milking it.

unfortunately when you leave the scene of an accident without reporting it, you loose the benefit of the doubt

wonder if she had any damage to the car, i've been mirrored on the elbow and the car lost it's mirror.

Me too on a brand new BMW.
I was on the roundabout and he pulled out from the left, I heard a crack and thought I'd broke my arm.
I was untouched but he got out shouting at me and then his mate said to him "You could have killed him pulling out like that?" so I told him to do one.
I bet they had a right argument.
The thing is even though it's a quiet roundabout the experience makes me ride up the pavement now which I don't want to do.

i avoid where it happened to me, long but blind'ish left hand up hill 50 limit corner. if a driver is messing with a cd or is'nt completly aware ahead they're gonna hit me. and yeah initially thought my arm/elbow was broken lucky just a big black bruise for a few weeks. i could feel it coming kinda and just before it hit i braced a bit and moved more over to the left. coulda been worse.

Offtopic:
Any of you cyclists seen this ?

That's interesting, because I made something exactly like it (but just for walking at night) :)

Those pictures are BS though because you'd need expensive lasers to produce that amount of precise light.

My first prototype used low power lasers with line prisms, which was OK, but not very bright.

The second prototype was going to use a high power laser with a rotating mirror (you don't actually need a grid pattern to see deformations, simple lines will do fine)

The theory of being able to see holes ahead does actually work, although on a bike I suspect vibration would make it hard to focus on. A handheld device is more stable and you can 'scan' the area ahead of you.

Just to clarify, how can she say that the cyclist clipped her mirror? Surely if she's coming up behind him, and going faster than him, that doesn't make any sense?

She didn't he was coming the opposite way. She says he was on her side of the road when she hit him

Charged with driving without due care and attention, failing to stop after an accident and failing to report an accident.

The last two carry prison sentences as far as I know but I'm guessing she'll almost certainly get points and a fine after her solicitor argues first offence, public embarassment and so on.
A pity if so because I'm hoping the remorseless bovine gets the maximum punishment available.
