We are happy to announce our upcoming title, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, for PC and XBLA! This real-time Action RPG is filled with fierce and demonic battles, memorable characters, and a refreshingly unique story that brings the legendary vampire slayer to modern audiences.

Set in a gothic-noir universe resembling a fantastical 19th century Europe filled with monsters, magic, and weird technology, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing will follow the son of the famed hunter, known in-game as Van Helsing, in a tale wrought with wry humor and snappy dialogue. With an assortment of extraordinary characters, an engrossing storyline, and a beautifully dark and gothic art style, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing looks to bring RPG enthusiasts an anachronistic adventure like no other.

I got it, not too bad. Bug where if the game crashes on a multiplayer game you have to start again as it doesn't save progression.

Got playing this for a couple of hours last night.

I would say its similar to the likes of Diablo 3/Torchlight 2 but with a different art style, think Diablo 2 with hi-res textures.

I would highly recommend it to people who like this genre, the music and atmosphere of the game are pretty great and the skill tree/perk system is pretty straight forward.

The only downside to the whole game I think is the lack of abilities. You can only have two active at anytime which have 3 power-ups on each which you use the rage system for.

You can switch between ranged/melee at the push of a button which then offers you a bit of variety in terms of skills, but if you want to get the max out of either tree you will most likely end up just playing ranged or melee.

A few optimization patches are required and the current issue with co-op needs fixed pretty quickly as many people buy this to play with friends, once these are fixed I would say its a decent action RPG at a reasonable price.

Any more feedback on this?

I'm not usually much of an ARPG fan as I tend to find them a bit monotonous. I really enjoyed what Neocore did with King Arthur, though, and if they've brought something a bit different to this genre I might be tempted.

So is it a fairly mindless grind, like Torchlight, or is there something worth discovering here?

How do those compare to Diablo 3?

Its good im enjoying it so far, its like a cross between diablo 3 and path of exile, not sure how long the game is yet but im on what diablo would probably call 'act 2' (machine world)

The combat is good on it you can choose between ranged and melee but only have one character type (Van Helsing) they also give you a 'ghost' companion to fight along side you that can equip and give items to hold on to, you can also re-spec your skills and points any time (for a gold cost) so you can't 'mess up' your build.

The only bad point is that the 'join game' bit is bugged (list empty) but I have had people join my game so don't know whats going on there, hope they fix this soon :)

Purchased and put 5 hours into this over the weekend. Already got more than my moneys worth.

Biggest differences from this and Diablo are

* No respawning enemies
* Once you complete the story you cannot start again on a higher difficulty level with same character.
* As only the 1 character I doubt this will be as big on multi play

The above limits replayability but do not bother me. Im thinking a play through on hard will be a good 20 hours plus.

Oh, and graphics are really nice and runs without a hitch

Also has been patched around 4 times already !

Sounds interesting, D3 for me was less about story/RPG more about 'grinding' which with my short attention span didn't interest me.

I liked D3 but I only played through once.

It is an ok game however I'm not sure if i'll finish it, I enjoyed the start but it's fast becoming VERY tedious such as the Traps/Waves quest. I'm also finding the back and forth routine very boring.

Prefer the way Titan Quest did it personally.

Finished it, did I enjoy it? I'd say it was ok, nothing special but way too many enemies in very similar design and the constant going back and forth and same areas BORING!
