well , i do find it odd its been "delayed" until roughly the ps4/new xbox release ... sort of indicates they had it in mind all along

I don't think this will appear on the next gen consoles.

They're not going to spend a couple of years developing it, release it on current gen. Then spend time and money porting it to next gen and release it on this, when the world plus his dog has already bought it for previous gen. It wouldn't make sense IMO.

I was under the impression that the PS4 architecture(x86) is similar to the PC, so maybe when/if they port GTAV to the PC, they could do a re-release for PS4?

I do hope this comes out on the new generation of consoles, but I'm very excited for it regardless.

This is what I was thinking too. basically the same game but with tarted up graphics and possibly fixes.

But in all reality, I don't think the exec is going to say "Yes, we have a next-gen version" because then I and surely numerous others will then wait and not buy it this gen which makes sales poor.

If you're buying their game though I don't think it matters to them whether it was on PC, current gen console or next gen console, it's not as if many people would buy it now on PS3 and then again in less than a year on the PS4, and for those who waited until a next gen release they're probably going to be few and far between in the grand scheme of things.

if anything, sony and microsoft should be paying the guys at gta to cancel this for current gen, and make it exclusive to the next gen consoles to increase sales!
