I've had my 1st gen Deathadder for 5 years now and since it is starting to wear off, I want to replace it.

I have large hands, DA is a large mouse but it is not very comfortable for my palm grip, especially on the right side where the pinky and the finger next to it rest. However, if I don't find anything better I wouldn't mind getting the new DA 2013 (I am also a bit scared of a new mouse layout).

What I am looking for is a mouse with great sensor, very good build quality and it has to be comfortable (currently using a fingertip grip on the DA, could use palm grip if the mouse allows it). I also want side forward/back buttons. Mainly I play Starcraft 2 and FPS games. My sensitivity is at 1800 dpi, if that makes any difference.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like you need a more ergonomic style mouse, the Deathadder is a cracking mouse but most of Razers designs are not as "shaped" as many other mice are, personally I prefer this that's me.

Logitech G500 or 700 might be a good bet for you.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Before the DA I had a G5 which I didn't really like, so I guess I won't like the G500's shape either.

The G400 looks ok, many positive reviews about that.

On a second thought, I may not need an ergonomic mouse as I am a high sensitivity gamer, so I am mostly using my fingertips.

Some other interesting mice are the Corsair M65 and the Razer Taipan, any input on these? Any other suggestions?

As much as I am not a fan of Razer as a company, the DA2013 is an absolutely amazing mouse.

Leave it in it's native DPI and it's ridiculously good at tracking.

Yeah I'm not a fan of Razer either but I have to say that the new DA looks sexy :)

What is it's native DPI? I don't think I can go higher than 1800.

Been using the M65 alongside my K70 for 3 days now and it is great, the build quality compared to my Razer mice (had loads over the last 12 years) is definitely higher than the more recent releases (Mamba and Imperator).
I have large hands (9.5" glove size) and the mouse fits very nicely in my hand. Its big enough that you can rest your palm on it but shaped well enough to just grip with your fingers if you want to.

I have it on a Razer Destructor 2 mat and the sensor is spot on.

Definitely worth a try, you can always DSR if it doesn't work out.

My Bro has the G400 and if you have large hands then its great, but I bought the G300 as I prefer a smaller lighter mouse that gives me all the additional buttons you need.

So I would recommend the Logitech G300, just from personal experience.

After watching many video reviews on YouTube I believe that the G400 will be the most comfortable for my hand but I am getting the DA 2013 just to be safe, plus I don't like the looks of the G400 :p

I had a G5, then a DA and now a G400. All very good, though for me it's a close call between the DA and G400.

The G400 has better build quality, though one small criticism is the buttons on top of the mouse are a little small, and the scroll wheel feels a bit cheap (too narrow as well / not as smooth to scroll). Nothing major though.

The DA felt as comfortable as the G400, maybe even more so. Fantastic scroll wheel, smooth and wider which helps for general use / comfort. The build quality was a healthy average, but I wouldn't say it's noticeably any better than that. Both look very nice, though I prefer the look of the DA over any other mouse I've seen to date. Both have great tracking. If it wasn't for the DA's room for improvement with regard to build quality, I'd have very likely bought another; though I suspect most of my decision was based on simply wanting to try something different.
