Need a new quality Gaming mouse.

Another vote for Corsair here, I've struggled to find a decent mouse for years and the M65 is light years ahead of the competition in terms of build quality and response.

I got a razor death adder last year (i'm sure it was a new model so may be different from your own?) which IMO is a fantastic mouse, although it is actually the only gaming mouse I've ever owned so have little to compare it with.

I've read some negative reviews regarding the M65's sensor and it also has prediction and acceleration? Looks solid though.

First thing I did when I plugged the M65 in was update the firmware, not had a single issue and played ~10 hours of Metro over the weekend.

If by prediction you mean Angle Snapping, you can turn that off (which I have). As for any acceleration, I can't detect it. The speed the pointer moves seems very consistent to me. I am using a high DPI though which I guess would make it harder to detect.

Like I said, the good thing with OCUK is you have upto 14 days to see if you like it and if not just send it back.

I know it's not the most fashionable, but I would give a vote to the Sharkoon Fireglider Black. After my own 1st gen Deathadder gave up the ghost last year I spent a lot of time trying to find a decent replacement, going through a number of Steelseries and Gigabyte mice. I have to say that despite its relatively low cost, the Fireglider has been excellent and fits my larger hand perfectly. Picked mine up on the rainforest for just over £20.

Looks ok, going to read a bit more about this one. Not a huge fan of Steelseries though.

Not a fan of their headsets and only used one keyboard and wasn't overly impressed but Sensei solved a lot of pain issues I had when using my mamba and is a very good mouse. I'm pretty sure its based around the much loved Microsoft Intellimouse which I remember being very comfortable also :)

I could do with an updated mouse but always have problems finding a decent mouse online as I can't try it.

I guess I have medium sized hands but tend to use a "claw" grip holding the mouse on the sides with my thumb and 4th finger. I find it easier to do fine movements then using my fingers rather than my whole hand/arm.

Currently using a RAT which is Ok but the batteries are gradually holding les and less charge. I could replace them or use it as an excuse for something new. :)

Any ideas? Not too worried about budget given how much time it gets used.

If you can handle not having a "gaming" mouse then the logitech performance mx is excellent and the batteries last about 3-4 days without needing to be recharged.

Don't get the Logitech G700, it needs to be charged daily which is done with a annoying cable not with a slick battery swapping system.

I can reccomend the Microsoft Sidewinder X8 although its a bit old now, it does 4000 dpi and has blutrack which means it will track on any surface. It needs charging around twice a week if you get a decent battery (it uses regular aa rechargables). It uses a cable to charge but its not annoying like the G700, the cable is encased in the receiver which you place on your desk.

Hope that helps :)

The Sensei sensor is the best one as far as I know.

The tracking quality is very good, but it has 5% positive acceleration. It might not be a big deal, but it's something you should know about the Sensei (in fact, all Steelseries mice have some sort of sensor flaw) in case you're sensitive to acceleration, like I am for example. The Sensei is a great mouse no doubt about it, but I couldn't use it due to the acceleration.

Batteries should be lasting months not days! Something seriously wrong there!
