Hey, just won a Microsoft official steering wheel on ebay :) Main use with be on the xbox.

Im looking for a racing sim which is obviously good and has Oulton Park on it. My computer should be powerful enough. AMD Phenom processor, 8GB ram, GTX460.

Which sims does everyone recommend now?

Thanks

MS have never developed the force feedback drivers for that wheel despite it being advertised on the packaging. it's the reason I got rid of mine.

Just got it to test a wheel out really. I didn't want to dive in at the deep end and get a wheel for £200+ and don't like the feel of it or the setup in my room.

I've raced around Oulton Park in real life a couple of times, the first time I ran it in iRacing it was just surreal, quite odd driving around in a sim and it matching up perfectly with my memory of lapping there in real life...

But then saying that if you just want to lap around Oulton it's not the cheapest option, you can get a free 3 month sub apparently (link posted in the iRacing thread), but then the track is somewhere around $12-15 and beyond that there's a sub as well.

Not sure what else to suggest though, pCARS you can't get into and frankly the quality of the tracks (in terms of matching reality) seems poor at best to me, rFactor 2 is another option but again with most tracks being added by mods they seemed poor last time I tried some but not tried any available Oulton.

Ok bud, thanks for the reply. Might just stick to forza for now then and f1 2012 until something new comes out.

that car looks to have better down force than a modern f1 car Oo

Thats because it does. The Lotus 79 generates more Downforce than a modern f1 car. It was the car that changed the rules.

Specs for the 79's downforce
4450 lbs./2022 kg @ 200 mph/320 kmh, with 1380 lbs./627 kg of drag.

If you want a good sim for cheap or free try Grand Prix Legends and 1000s of addon tracks for it including oulton.

Its a very hard sim to drive but still one of the best around imo after it they made the Nascar sims then Iracing.
