Does this look like a decent TV for £340?

Erm but he is looking at a £340 TV and the GT50 is £800?

he is looking to buy a temp tv, then buy the GT50, then move the temp tv to bedroom and use the gt50 as the main tv.

imo he would be better off buying the GT50 on a credit card. using the £400 he has just now to pay plus whatever he can save over the next 30 days off the first months bill. then save up another £400 or whatever to pay the following month's.

the reason why i say to do it this way is because the GT50 may well sell out within 2 months, so buying on a credit card is the best way to do it if you dont have the cash right now.

then next year he can buy either a new tv for the living room (gt60) and move the gt50 into bedroom.

Maybe he will not want a panasonic plasma though because of the flickering. If he does not notice that then they are good. I could not watch the Panasonic plasmas because of the flcikering personally. Would go and test it in a store first.

Thanks for suggestion.

Will check that out now thanks. Is it actually smart as cant see it mention that?

They have one I linked on amazon in Germany so should be fine but happy to spend less if needed. I plan to get a GT50 panny in a few months unless something better comes along by then.

Just as a small addition.

Might save a few quid by going for a none "smart" TV as most of the features that these TVs have are available elsewhere i.e. Bluray players, Game consoles etc which you may already own or plan to buy in the near future.

I tell you what is a pretty good TV for cheap if you can get one used or refurb on ebay...

Sony 40EX503...

If you can get one of those for £300 then it is an awesome TV for the money.
