The problem is you are not taking what the competition has on offer, or even Nvidia's own last gen cards.
The Titan is no doubt the fastest card that is right now, but it is not million miles ahead of the 7970 (or even the GTX680). The GTX780 is still good margin faster than the 7970 yes (around 0-20% ahead depending on the game), but it is not £230-£250 faster. Also it is as bit-tech has put it, that kinda of increase should be something expected of moving gen after over 12 months, but without the price bumping (from £400 to £550). With the GTX780 on £550 on average, it should had been something that launched 12 months ago alongside the GTX680 rather than now.
But the price is not your call. What you think is irrelevant. If the market can stand it and there is demand then this is what dictates the price.
Its all about making money. If you don't like it don't buy it.
