Another haswell spec needed: £1250

Hi Guys,

Posted a couple of weeks back asking for spec advice and everybody said wait until Haswell, my budget is £1250. I need:

Graphics
Ram, board, cpu
Nice sound card
Nice case
power sup
ssd

I don't plan on overclocking much, I do a lot of image editing and some gaming.

Thanks stulid. Yes I already have some drives. Do you think 550w its big enough for the psu? also what is the main difference between i7 and i5 chips?

The 550W PSU is enough for that spec, it is a quality PSU too.

Both PSU's are modular too, so you don't have to worry about unused cables being hidden away.

i7 CPU's have Hyperthreading mainly so you have 8 threads, i5 has four.

last one, what is the main difference between the ram ratings on the ddr3 listed in the shop? I know they are overclocking related but is there any real world difference in mild overclocking scenarios? for example:

I reckon if you want RAM to be running at a certain speed, then buy RAM rated at that speed.

Not all RAM clocks well, so you may buy a 1600MHz kit and be disappointed if it wont go higher.

The CPU is not the "K" version.

The PSU is enough for two GFX cards, but the board isnt.
