I can't help but notice that when anyone gets up to speak in parliament they are referred to as "Right honourable Gentleman". In view of the pervious, cash for questions, fiddled expenses, rented out second homes and un-declared outside interests. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-22749803

Should that not now be changed to "the self serving, swivel eyed, git??" Mr XXX.

Just a thought..;)

How did you manage to spell it incorrectly in the thread title, but correct in your post?

I was 'allegedly' paid to spell it incorrectly...;):) Either that, or it was an oversight, error in judgement, or I wasn't in possession of the full facts at the time.

Not all are entitled to be addressed as "the right honourable"

MPs who are members of the privy council are along with Barons, Viscounts and Earls. Also some holders of individual offices are such as the Lord Mayor of London.

Any MP is entitled to be addressed as "the honourable". Any MP who has served in the armed forces at the rank of Major or above should be addressed as "the honourable and gallant". QCs are addressed as "the honourable and learned"

There are lots of people by virtue of status or office outside parliament who are also entitled to be addressed as "the honourable"
