Horses for courses. I used the i7 CPU, have more storage, a mechanical keyboard and the OS was inc. (yes he can use the evaluation of windows 8 but he still needs to cough up for it eventually) and to be fair I hardly used 1600Mhz RAM.....2400Mhz isn't shabby and I too kept things colour co-ordinated
If he really wants the 900D to watercool then putting the H100i in the basket doesn't make much sense to me. Might as well look at the kits you linked to earlier, he can add more rads and a waterblock for the GPU later but mounting a rad in the bottom of the case won't allow for push/pull if I recall the review correctly. Seems like a lot of expense and hassle to me to be honest but each to their own.

I used Red RAM with a Red board to keep things colour coordinated too
A i7 CPU is pointless for gaming too (I selected the wrong chip in post#4).
