Spec check £1900

Horses for courses. I used the i7 CPU, have more storage, a mechanical keyboard and the OS was inc. (yes he can use the evaluation of windows 8 but he still needs to cough up for it eventually) and to be fair I hardly used 1600Mhz RAM.....2400Mhz isn't shabby and I too kept things colour co-ordinated ;)

If he really wants the 900D to watercool then putting the H100i in the basket doesn't make much sense to me. Might as well look at the kits you linked to earlier, he can add more rads and a waterblock for the GPU later but mounting a rad in the bottom of the case won't allow for push/pull if I recall the review correctly. Seems like a lot of expense and hassle to me to be honest but each to their own.

Any which way I look forward to seeing what he settles on in the end :)

I used Red RAM with a Red board to keep things colour coordinated too;)

A i7 CPU is pointless for gaming too (I selected the wrong chip in post#4).

Yes you did, I noticed that :) Which is why I said "I too" lol

I do believe Crysis 3 favours the i7s and more games should follow suit. Looks like he is also considering SLi from the PSU choice so if he can afford the i7 then why not. I'd sooner put my cash into the CPU for a well rounded rig rather than going OTT on the chassis but each to their own as I said.

My i5's are just as quick as my 3930K in games.

Sorry for not replying in a while got really buzy at work. Will let you know an update on parts in a bit :). Thanks for the help. Friends really excited but i told him to wait and get opinions from the pros. Great help everyone has been so far. I think an i7 might be on the cards now lol

The TEAM ram I linked is faster and has the potential to tune the timings even tighter.

The UD4 board is stronger.

You are missing a cooler and HDD.

I would personally want a fully modular PSU,
