I am thinking of getting a new 27" TFT screen with a 2560x1440 resolution since I want to invest my money in something that lasts at bit longer this time around. Usually I upgrade graphics card every year but last time I upgraded I felt it was bit of a waste going from 3x GTX 580 1.5GB to 3x GTX 670 2GB, since the boost was mediocre and the performance from the GTX 580's was still good. So before I end up with another bad decision I just want to ask for first hand experience.
Is 2GB enough for current gaming at 2560x1440 resolution ? or is it a bad idea ? I wondered if I should get my GTX 670 2GB upgraded to GTX 670 4GB cards before making the move to 2560x1440 which then at least would be postponed till around autumn.
I play at max settings and usually with 4x/8x Anti-Aliasing, but I'm willing to use FXAA or 2xAA at 2560x1440 if that will be acceptable.
I have a 4½ year old Asus VW266H 26" TFT 1920x1200 that is still superb, but I am thinking up getting a Asus PB278Q 27" TFT 2560x1440.
