I think you'll find that defending Muslims is very different to defending extremist Muslims.

Just like he wouldn't blame Christians or Atheists if the perpetrators were found to be such. Instead he would blame the EDL or whatever morons organised/caused it.

Yep, it would have been a major terrorist attack requiring the attention of all levels of government immediately.

Overreaction by the government which sent the media into overdrive is partly the cause for this.

He is, relevantly, pointing out the absurdity of actions like this, it is a vicious circle. Burning down this community centre is a reaction to a reaction to a reaction.

It achieves nothing.

Pointing out that we (by which I mean both the UK and the West in general) are actually creating the justifications used by extremists in the first place, using their reactions to justify further violence is absurd.
