Just been onto the phone with my bank about several confusing overdraft fees, turns out I had actually messed up and it wasn't an error. So I took it on the chin and was incredibly polite to the young woman on the phone, and she decided to sort it out and get it refunded as it was such a shock for her to not have somebody turn nasty given the situation.

Moral of the story, don't be an douche to customer service, because whether you get what you phoned up for or not, where does being horrible to them get you anyway?

If it was the first time you went over a planned overdraft then it's quite normal to get a refund anyway.....

I don't have an overdraft set up on my account, and I've had 3 so far this year. Already had my freebie about a week after I set up my internet banking last year.

You're a douche

Your probably not of course....just sayin'

Well I am really, just not to random people who have caused me no bother. It's the best way to be, getting angry only winds yourself up anyway at the end of the day so if you ever do, make sure it's worth it and not to some poor woman on the phone like. :p

I love how you think this is some sort of revelation :p

You've gone into an unplanned overdraft 3 times in 6 months? That's not good, mate.

Was just sayin' :D these forums are a pretty good example, you can regularly see that when two people argue over something silly, they are both getting wound up and annoyed and what's the point?

I am pretty rubbish when it comes to banking, I have two accounts set up, one for my actual cash withdrawels and a visa that I put money into as I need it for paypal etc. First OD was because I left it with pennies and then GMG or some other site ninja'd a couple of quid for a game I bought several weeks back and dropped me into credit. Second time was a complete derp on my part and the third was because the actual second fee took me into credit on the 28th, and I didn't realise until the 5th of the next month so I got charged double. Explained it all and had a polite conversation and she gave it back, the people working on the phones in places, especially banks get nothing but abuse. Poor buggers.

...And in come the GD douches ;).

Reminds me of when I sat in on a call for a bank call centre position, the guy called up be all full of rage then at the end he was apologising and begging them to not charge him any more fees.

Honestly, that’s what I call a cool story bro. Such a riveting tale, I honestly copy and pasted it to word, saved on my hard drive, backed it up on a jump drive, drove to the bank, put the jump drive in the safe deposit box, and will leave it there until my kids turn about 12 (when they can actually state their age, and ask what it is I’m showing them), when I will pick it up, put it in an old USB drive reader and relay this cool story to them and tell them "Grrr post didn't post, try again. For benching a stable base is crucial, and what better stable base then a strong back. Rows are awesome here, db rows, bent over rows, pull ups are all great. Don't neglect your triceps either, CGBP is a really good exercise. Chest gains are the hardest to have and you just need to be hitting it with crazy volume if you want to add mass."
