Can I turn my 4TB seagate into a NAS?

Hi guys,

I recently bought a 4TB hard drive which I have connected to my desktop. I want to be able to access it from my other devices - I know I could set up a network/homegroup share, but I prefer to turn my computer off at night.

Is there an external device or some sort of router / hub that I could connect the device to so it will show up on the network when on another computer?

Hope I'm making sense!

Cheers,

You don't say but are we to assume its an external usb drive?

If so then yes there are routers that allow you to connect up such a drive and access it. I can't give you a specific link but browse the selection of routers on ocuk and it'll say in the description :)

Hey thanks for the response. Sorry I forgot to mention that! You're dead right, it's a USB external drive. I'll take a look at some routers in that case!

If anyone has any recommendations I'd love to hear :)
