Had a bot game as Master Yi. Failed so hard for pretty much all of it. Endgame I started to chunk hp down but still was a pretty crap game for me. His ability to chase down champs is great... but he just wasn't causing enough damage so they'd either easily get away (cos they were faster or was too near an escape route) or kill me first.

So went back to Annie in a PvP blind and incinerated everyone :D Was top 2v1, wasn't having the best of exchanges and I was making that stupid mistake of holding onto my stun instead of using it to last hit minions, till I hit level 6 and the jungle Malphite turned up with a perfectly timed assist to help me kill the second :D Long story short, little squishy, lots of AP, nuked people nicely. That AoE stun Tibbers is so epic. Had a few 3-5 champ hits in team fights with him. Combined with Malphites ulti we were dominating quite nicely in team fights.

Pretty much anything can be "viable" if you play to the strengths of your character / build and you're good enough but honestly you're just making your life harder. Any hero you try and force into the ADC role will just be inferior to a true carry because your kit isn't designed for it and LoL is a hard enough game as it is without putting yourself at a disadvantage.

I agree but LoL is not a hard game.

NA LCS time, anyone else watching?
Really wanna watch TSM vs Curse but its the 7th game :( gonna be too late for me i reckon. Shame.
Still, cloud 9 next will probably be very entertaining.

How can anyone reasonable say that a high skill-cap game that is match-made against human opponents is not hard? The skill cap on LoL is clearly very high, otherwise there would be no professional scene

Oh, it's hard at the top level, but it's not a hard game to play, same as say football, it's easy to play and learn.

Anyone else bought Aatrox? I was'nt going to coz melees not really my thing but after hearing/reading "zomg aatrox is so broken and op, please remove him" blah blah blah, i though sod it ima see what the crack is. He can be a pain but he's defo not op, easily countered even by a low like me. Granted he is pretty damn good once you build him properly and i figured out his uber combo but i think people are having bother for the simple fact he's new. Had a lot of custom games with him and my mates testing him, he's got nothing on renekton unless your bloodwell is ready and full to the brim.

Good combo i like to do with him, Fly in, hit ulti, swap to the active on w so you do more damadge untill your down to 1/3 health then turn it off to regain hp trade off for bit then use e. Boom :)

New champs are always OP according to the community. Factor in the fact he has built in sustain the pitchforks have come out quicker.

Give it a month and people will learn how to counter and it will all blow over.

Aatrox hasn't been an issue for me yet, I play him (as Riven) the same as Zac top - no point killing him because of his passive so just zone him or freeze the lane and out farm him.

I actually destroyed an aatrox so hard as riven the other night, he was a bit over confident and made the mistake at trying to all in me, i just stunned attacked then the Q combo and he was dead, ofcourse his passive came up but i just stunned him when he revived then killed him.

I do love riven :D Easily my fave champ

E: Also i did try Aatrox mid and it really works nicely imo.

Just downloaded this yesterday after playing a game with Skillmister and MoNkeE.

I played one game last night, 5 vs AI, and we got slaughtered lol. I have no idea what I'm doing though to be fair. I always pick melee characters in games, like Diablo, WoW, I always go for the tank/barbarian type class, so went for Fiora as she seemed to be melee. But wow, died so many times. And went for the middle lane which I got told this morning was my first mistake.

Going to try Ashe tonight as that's who I've been recommended to try to learn the game a bit before trying to play melee

The game has an extremely high learning curve, mainly because of the meta game (the way in which the community agrees is the best way to play) / lanes / various champion types and abilities.

So expect to die a lot to begin with.

But it certainly is a fun game, ashe has a lot of damage, but is squishy, if someone is hitting you, don't stand and take it.

I'd suggest you try some tanky people, for a few main reasons: You're not expected to get all the kills, you will survive longer simply by being the tank, the enemy team will not focus you because you're the tank, again leading to longer life.

Good luck :)

EDIT: i won't add much, because you could type pages and pages to cover everything, but a quick word on the meta:

Generally agreed that the following layout is obeyed,

1 person top - Often AD / Bruiser or tank. Normally melee
1 Person jungle - Plenty of jungle champions, who's abilities vary, they kill the neutral minions and jump into lanes to help their team. They level a bit slower but get more gold than lanes (generally). Watch out for being attacked by the enemy jungler (wards can help. If you see them, tell your team, if you need help tell your jungler)
1 Person middle - Generally an AP caster type. But doesn't have to be.
2 People bot - Normally 1 AD carry (carry means they need help early on getting the kills, but they snowball and get very strong with each kill / item, making them extremely powerful lategame if they've been given a good early game) and 1 support - Not someone who goes for kills, goes for support items (like randuins omen / frozen heart / shurelias / mana manipulator [and whatever it builds]) to buff their teams stats / lower the enemy teams. They often have heals and silences to help their team.

Sometimes you get 2 people bot where one is a carry but the other isn't quite support, watch out for big damage combos in this case. (I.e nidalee 'support', or nunu.)

Anyway, gl!
