Basically thats it, its nonsense and can only work against you long term. So like two-three people in the entire thread suggested calling it what it was rather than treating their kid like a retard.
Exactly what would be inappropriate about a child going to pre-school and using the word vagina, in what context can you use the word vagina inappropriately that isn't still inappropriate when said using a stupid name instead of the word vagina?
The only potential is for people being UNCOMFORTABLE because of their own issues. What are the odds on if those who would be uncomfortable with the use of a normal word got that idea because when they were kids their parents were too scared to talk to them honestly about stuff like this.
More to the point, its this kind of nonsense that makes kids not trust their parents and go anywhere else for information, you're basically telling your kids YOU'RE uncomfortable with the word and the situation. So when they want to know about sex, they think you're uncomfortable, they are already uncomfortable... do they come to you or go to random stupid uninformed friends.
Its pretty simple, kids are smart, they absorb information, tell her its called a vagina AND tell her some people are uncomfortable with that so use "preferred word here" instead if you are unsure if someone could be uncomfortable with it. Kids say stupid things ALL the time, its how they learn what is appropriate and what isn't and, where something is appropriate, and when.
