Do you check your pay

I've had a few different jobs over the years and in most of them my pay has varied from month to month for various reasons.

I always check my pay is correct and sometimes it can be very complicated to work out. Only one out of my last four employers has got my pay correct every month I have worked there. Obviously if your pay is the same every month this isn't such a problem.

The vast majority of my colleagues over the years never check their pay, they just accept what it says on the payslip. Do you check you're being paid the correct amount?

[to be clear I'm talking about both the payslip and therefore the money received being wrong not just a difference between the payslip and the amount going into my account]

I regulalry check my pay but I don't check I'm getting the exact right amount, ballpark figure does me. I will check when I've done like overtime or BH that I'm getting around the right amount tho. we get extra pay for after 9PM and shifts vary slightly every week so pay can fluctuate a tad from month to month.

I get paid the same amount every two weeks, down to the exact cent. I don't actively check it but it would stand out to me during my normal online banking activity.

Yes i always do, in my day to day job im payed by checue every thursday. But i always make sure it's written out properly. Overtime at work and my own jobs i take on are cash in hand. And i do count the money the boss/client hands to me. I make a lot more money doing work for myself hence i keep very meticulous records of my own private work.

Is that so you can be sure to pay the correct amount of tax?

I check mine but that is due to being on commission. I check the monthly commission sheet matches my daily updated sheet of sales done as things can be missing quite regularly albeit they are resolved quickly.

I then check the commission element of my payslip to make sure it matches.

We have the worlds most complicated car scheme with gross ups and balancing figures either side, I showed it to my accountant who said they were being very generous and it was right so I just check the bottom right which changes with how many miles I do.

To be honest no, aslong as the figure is roughly what I'm expecting I don't bother to double check it.
This. - I'm on salary so the pay hardly changes month-to-month. As long as I can see expenses have gone in, and any deductions have come out, I don't delve any deeper.

If I think the numbers look odd, then I'll start crunching them.

That's the exact opposite of what I do ;).

i don't even look at my payslip. I'll check my bank balance maybe once a month or so to see if it's around where it should be, and have a quick look at what payments have actually gone in every other month or something, but that's about it.

I check quarterly for bonus payments, but monthly it's always bang on. Every time expenses are paid I get an email notification of the amount, so no need to check that either.

I get paid the exact same amount each month, so its easy to see if it isn't correct. I do check my expenses though, as often things get missed.
