Pacific Rim - Epic new Scfi Movie

If you are thinking about the intricacies of the plotline while huge skyscraper robots are fighting monsters you are doing it wrong :D

Also, Battleship was brilliant for an all action, who gives a crap about physics and plotline movie... because anchor turn battleship salvo.

Yea, but theirs a limit I can take so much bad acting, it was just utterly terrible even for a no brainer, I enjoyed Battle LA etc.

Saying that I hate any film or anything to do with having a female Klingon singer in it.

It's a brain-off big-grin-on movie.

Just like Expendables and Battleship.

Movies like this don't need plotline, I'm watching it to see giant mechs knock seven shades out of giant monsters.

That's all the plotline I need :D

Always some room for bewbs and sexy time scene with someone decent.

Battle LA was good as well.

And I agree whole heartedly RE: Rhian-ella-ella-ella, she was the single worst thing about Battleship.

Still really enjoyed it though :p

battleship is pants .. end of .. and i like most action movies .. except the transformers movies ...... shoudl have left it at the original cartoon / movie back in the 80's

So I'm looking forward to this but one thing springs instantly to mind... If you can build a Jaeger that big, why can't you make one twice as big?! Swat those Kaiju like flies, I think they're missing a trick.

Debating whether to go see this. It looks a little like Battleships, which I was quite led down by as it had no solid story too and was just pure CGI the whole way through it pretty much. It just seems too...average :P

Is it just me or is that ship he's waving around like a GTA baseball bat completely out of scale? When he drags it past the car it looks way too small to be a proper ship.

As a fan of big stompy mechs beating the living **** out of things/each other, I cannot wait for this film.

The best comparison for this movie is Robot Jox vs Monsters: With added plot, fx budget and good actors.

BTW, i have Robot Jox on DVD, too me ages to track that down. A film so bad its good :D

This movie reminds me of that Japanese anime which has almost to same premise, except 1 pilot not 2.

That's pretty much the point, Del Toro got inspired seeing (his?) kids playing monsters and robots and thought to himself whether anyone in Hollywood had done a proper Jap Kaiju/mecha live action film, and if not, then he'd get pitching to the studio exces.

Genuinely enjoyed Battleship for the action - it didn't pretend to be big and clever.

Pacific Rim - A film with big mechs hulking about? Hooray!
