Metal Gear Solid 4

Yay, finished the game!

Now can someone please explain what the heck I just watched? I don't think I understand or can comprehend any of the plot.

It was fun, tho. I'll give it that. It was exceedingly good fun.

What is so hard to understand about the plot? :)

I don't want to write any blatant spoilers but the way hideo tied everything in and effectively answered every loose end was fantastic.

@icehot: I think I just found it very, very contrived and couldn't suspend disbelief.

The game was great but the story/plot really jumped the shark.

Your Joking right ?

MGS has to have the most convoluted plot lines ever in the history of video games.

Its like they tacked the story on at the end.

Not knocking it as I am a fan of MGS but i gave up on the plot just like playing the games.:D

I remember being really excited in MGS4 when you return to Shadow Moses, it looked so good.

As long as they keep everything the same and not mess it up like they did with Twin Snakes then it will be all good.

That'd be the ideal situation, but I feel like they'd have to change a lot of stuff just so the game 'makes sense' on a modern platform. Level design would probably be altered due to being able to aim independently and move the camera around more freely. Plus the dialogue from MGS was recorded in quite low quality by modern standards, so they'd either have to re-record it (again) or use the dialogue from Twin Snakes, which would suck because the delivery/pacing is totally off in places there.

I'd love a modern re-make of MGS that stays true to the original, but sadly I get the feeling they'd make all sorts of changes that would spoil it.

I might get pelted for this but I don't exactly see all the giant hype about this game. I've played the first few levels of it and it's a bit confusing. The gameplays pretty decent, but nothing special. I'm going to keep playing it though to see if I can get into it better.

For one I imagine the voice acting would change with a re-record can't see Hayter coming back, although Kiefer does have an epic voice.

Genuinely I thought MGS4, tied 1, 2 & 3 together wonderfully and wasnt left confused/bewildered by it at all :)

Agreed it has one of the most extravagant plotlines in games history though!
