Hi Guys

Just got a m500 960GB. Went in disk management to set it up so I can copy stuff from my hard drive to it. It found the SSD and the partition wizard runs ok. I click finish and it creates a partion but doesn't format it and an error comes up about try refreshing the task or restarting disk management. Using RST drivers 12.5. I restart DM and the partition is there but format will display the error.

Any ideas?

cant you format it,quick format then create the partition?

secure erase tools are

parted magic and gparted you have to burn them to dvd/cd and boot from them

the SSD isn't and wont be my boot drive. I have a 840 Pro as my boot drive. The crucial M500 is in my cases x dock bay. I want to format it so I can move the data from my Seagate hdd (mostly steam games) to the M500 si I can replace the hdd with the SSD.

oh ok,maybe it wont format it because its in a dock bay? idk could try it connected to motherboard, other than that idk why it wont format, should be straight forward

I got it to work today:) Uninstalled it from device manager, scanned for new hardware and went to disk management and worked first time. Just copied 425 gigs to it.
