Destroyed by a girlfriend.. Damn

Iv considered taking up skydiving for years.. She never wanted me too as she thought it was dangerous. Perhaps this is the release i need to go jump out of a plane!

Good call. It's actually not hard to get on a course - do it!

When a girl asks you what you do for fun, you can nonchalantly reply "oh, go the gym, watch movies...jump out of perfectly good planes" :)

Id do a tandem dive or two first! Iv looked into it a lot along with Base jumping. Looks like a kind of rush id love! I love anything which gets the adrenaline going

I just fear ill get to 30 and still be single :') I know i go a lot of places and have turned down female attention in the past because of my relationship but girls who approach me in bars etc i cannot see them as girlfriend material just a one nighter thing :P

Take it from someone IN his 30s. You'll find someone else. Christ, you've 11 years to go.

My ex cheated on me (a story worthy of Jeremy Kyle tbh) and we'd been together 5 years (24->29). Obviously I was devastated, even more so by whom she'd cheated on me with (hence the JK angle) and I thought I'd never meet another. 3 years on and I've been with my current GF just a little under a year and when we met I wasn't actively looking for anyone.

Women are mental. One of the greatest bands in the world have a song with the lyrics 'I can't live..... with or without you'. There's a lot of sense in that line :)

I think I'd stick to Skydiving...BASE jumping is kinda dangerous and fairly likely to get you killed or seriously hurt!

BASE jumping as of 2002 has an overall fatality rate estimated at about one fatality per sixty participants. A study of 20,850 BASE jumps from the same site (the Kjerag Massif in Norway) reported 9 fatalities over the 11-year period from 1995 to 2005, or 1 in every 2,317 jumps. However, at that site, 1 in every 254 jumps over that period resulted in a nonfatal accident.[24] As derived from this same jump site study, BASE jumping is the most dangerous recreational activity in the world, with a fatality and injury rate 43 times higher than parachuting from a plane.

First things first, if this is your first serious relationship where YOU get dumped... it can indeed be crushing. It may take many years to get over it, even when you are with someone else. The one bit of advice I will give you is this: Do NOT do any favours for ex-girlfriend. She will likely try to act friendly when she needs something from you. Identify this and ignore/say no.

But honestly... you'll get over it eventually even if you cry yourself dry, and blab to all your mates and random strangers about it. Take the lessons you learned from this relationship and apply them to the next.

Iv seen the statistics yeah but i cannot imagine a closer thrill than jumping with enough time to just get a chute open and ur landing seconds later. Must be a heck of a rush! Id get very effecient at skydiving first don't worry aha

Just wondering.. Is anyone on here still with there "highschool sweetheart" as you would say.. like 16-18 or so and still with them now?

She was a little bit erm mental sometimes so it is helping me get over it a lot..

She was abit forward she wanted a kid etc and me to live with her already

dude, you're 19 :) MTFU and stop giving a crap about her :) move on, block her from everything, remove all contacts(this will help you as she won't be able to contact you and you'll give less a of a f due to this)

and that'll be it! i've split up with my ex after 2 years and it was DEAD easy to get over her.. the only bother was from her asking me to get back with her(she was the one that dumped me lol) and me saying no made her block me(best thing ever)

so yeah.. MTFU and carry on with your life, chicks at that age are temporary and you should always look at it that way.. if it works out to be a proper full blown relationship then good but don't think to far ahead EVER.

There's only 2 things that work;

1. Break all contact.
2. Time

2 sounds rubbish, but you can try and take comfort in the fact that there is NOTHING else that will take what you are feeling away. There's no magical cure. Distractions don't help, as you are always reminded of WHY you are doing it.

"So why did you take up base jumping?"
"Well I was dumped..." *bursts into tears*

I tried that, got dumped at Uni, so threw myself into studying. hmm, thinking about it, I actually have a lot to thank that ungrateful **** for really...

I've been withy missus since I was 17 (she was 16), I'm 25 next month and it seems to still be going well.... For now. I kinda wish we got together when I was 23 or so though cuz I've missed out on some serious pasty smashing!
