Did the Peak District 100 today. 101 miles and 8901ft climbing, was bloody difficult, especially when the sun came out. I think I managed it in around 6 hours 45 mins but official times come out tomorrow and I'm looking forward to seeing how I did. Real struggle in places but pretty pleased with my form.

6hrs 50mins 10secs for the official time. Placed third out of everyone that did the 101 mile route so pretty happy with that although I imagine the calibre of rider is probably not as strong as what you'd get at a Wiggle event for example.

Just waiting for the obligatory cheesy photos to surface now.

Bike finally came from Ribble, haven't actually ridden it yet and the seat needs adjusting, going for a spin later this evening!

Wow so much faster than I managed my ride, I think Strava has my moving time at around 8 hours. I stopped with a group while one of them sorted his tyre out after 3 punctures in a few miles. Then they left me.

Vonhelmet, check out http://app.strava.com/segments/3585949. A whole 4.3mph

Did the same event last year but the shorter route and really struggled. Now the Peaks are my back yard I'm a lot stronger. You learn to love the hills! I'd love to crack 6 hours- maybe next year.

Beautiful bike! Loving the red with white and black detailing. How much did that set you back?

:D it's through cyclescheme £931 + administration charge £65 + £20 delivery. Brilliant customer service from ribble I wasn't expecting the bike until end of July (I placed order 25th may) to be honest as they told me they would start building it 1st July. I love steel tubing they are so thin compared to alu frames which are pretty chunky.

You've got 9.5 for Belmont. It's me that's got 8.8. I need to stop parking my bike and chilling out on the false summit...

Ah, 8.8mph was the day I did it with you. I got 9.5mph the other week when I was chasing the guy on the Orbea up and being followed by his mate on the Giant :D

In fairness, that looks comparable to the infamous Rake, and I think my best speed up there is about the same, though I don't have a Strava link for it. It's 0.6 miles long and took me 8 minutes. Nightmare.

Here you go.

Also, **** these Durano Plus. I'm sacking them off and sticking my super heavy, wire beaded 32mm Marathon Plus back on. I'm getting sick of fixing punctures and the Marathons were well comfier on the crappy surfaces of my commute.

Well I went out and did some "hills" tonight. 357 metres of elevation in total, and a max heart rate of 182, a 30 mile route. Can't complain, and its a lovely route. Obviously nothing on you guys up north, but I had to cycle 10 miles to find a hill :p.

Think I'll try and do that one 2/3 times a week and get some leg strength up.

Bah, went to go out this evening, and thought whats that noise, couldn't see anything, looked at the back wheel properly and one of my spokes had gone :( Not sure when I done it, must have been on the way home on Sunday, but didn't notice it, so hope I haven't done too much damage.

Bit disappointing though considering only had the bike since January, worth being cheeky with Wiggle and asking for a replacement or just stump up for a new spoke?

There's nothing cheeky about it. You would expect a wheel to last more than 6 months (unless you've done serious mileage). Email them and say so, they're usually pretty good.
