I hate insurance companies :(

Insurance companies are stupid....

2007 Clio 1.2 extreme £335pa

2010 civic Type R £325pa

That's not really stupid, they work on statistics and figures. Obviously they have a lot more insurance claims from people driving Clio's, so charge higher for insurance on it.

This exactly. At my old postcode I got a quote for a 75Bhp 1.1 Citroen C2 at £4800, then got a quote for a brand new 195Bhp Insignia Turbo Elite at £3950, also mentioning the car is worth £25000 on insurance!

Ignore insurance groups until you are 25+. Its all about crash statistics. How many 17 years olds can get a hold of a C2? Many, and as they are inexperienced, they crash it. How many 17 year olds can get a hold of a £25K car? Barely any at all, but still a risk or crashing due to inexperience.

What a lovely guy you are, Mohamed, working a slave wage job in a hell hole call centre job, tries to improve his english by chatting to you while his computer loads, and you slate him for it. Well done big man.

What's with the assumption that Mohamed doesn't speak English as a first language?

Few points:

- awful tyres
- massively faded headlamps (you can try to polish but that means taking the lense apart) so will need new ones
- dat fog light, nothing wrong with it, just looks wack
- questionable tints
- rear wiper not sat in standard postion (could have just turned the car off with the wiper set like that, or it's broke, either way it looks bad)
- no pics of engine bay

Also 107,000 miles an no mention of the cam belt being changed, best to assume it needs doing and at 100k+ should prob include pulley replacement too. Plus the steering wheel has seen a fair bit of use, not sure how much of the 107k is in KM's pre import but there's no way of knowing how genuine that figure is.

The fog light however I see as a very good thing, they haven't cut into the bumper to mount a ghastly one like a lot of cars so the O/S reversing light could easily be converted to a rear fog using the existing wiring.

Ah yes, cambelt change.

On my n/a it cost me around £300 inc labour and parts, I did all the pulleys and tensioners too, the UK spec had them done prior to purchase.

Yeah it's just a shame the fog light is just stuck on like that, I guess it means you dont need a new bumper if you did the cluster mod.

Since when were Admiral all outsourced? I'm sure I talked to someone in the UK when I was in contact with them getting my NCB reinstated.

You'll find when you're young it's less the NCB and more the years holding a licence. The fact I had 1NCB when I insured my MX5 first time, made much less difference than me having 2 years driving experience.

its the luck of the draw with admiral. i had to phone them back as my new car wont be ready till Monday and had to put my old car back on the insurance and i got someone in Cardiff. who funnily enough didn't ask me stupid questions.

Thanks for the pointers chaps but what I find weird is that when I went to go see it, it had 103k on the clock  hmmm ah well. fairly sure he's had a better offer on it and the 1k offer was valid, although I don't blame him for selling for more.

Thanks anyways ;)
