Can't see Suarez moving to another English club personally unless there is stupid wages on offer (which there won't be from Arsenal).

The only thing Arsenal have a chance of winning is the fair play league and Suarez won't help with that.

It would royally **** off DM though which would be one good thing.

Not that I think there is any chance of it happening but putting Suarez into the Arsenal team would certainly give them a great chance of winning something.

Most of the goals come from midfield or wings, add a proven goal scorer and I believe you would get success.

Everything about Arsenal upsets DM. Even if we sacked Wenger and made Eboue the new manager he would still complain :D

Arshavin, Squilacci and Denilson alone were ~£200k

Coquelin and Djourou are only out on loan.

Annoyed we've released Meade as he was potentially the 2nd best LB at the club, although he's arguably too small to play as a defender English game (he makes Arshavin look like Peter Crouch by comparison).

Meade wanted first team football, and he's 3rd choice possibly 4th choice LB, and thats not likely to change in the near future. The club wanted to keep him. Fair play to the lad for leaving rather than picking up a wage and wasting his career.

Thiago Alcantara has agreed a five-year-deal at Old Trafford, with the move now just needing Manchester United to meet the Barcelona midfielder’s £15 million buy-out clause. Reports in Catalan daily, Sport, suggest the 22-year-old is closing in on a move to the Premier League Champions, with United boss David Moyes admitting he is ready to spend in a bid to end his first season at the club with silverware. Source: The Metro

Why would Barca allow United to speak to him if the clause wasn't already met??

Realistically speaking even if it was as much as £20m, he would be snapped up by 1/2 dozen teams, so its a case of when rather than if.

Biggest hurdle was personal terms.

One thing that's interesting is that pagesss ago on this thread Im sure it was mentioned that moving between countries means the buy-out clause isn't any real guide - and yet every report is still mentioning the £15m~ /17m euros (even without going into the always mentioned - the player extracting himself having to pay the money rather than the buying club)

Huddlestone, Parker, Livermore, Falque can all leave for me. Jury still out on Dempsey and Siggy, I suppose they don't cost mega money and both can score important goals.

Would you add Defoe to that list?

Huddleston and Parker were awful for the limited time they played last season. I'm still not convinced by Livermore yet. Maybe over time who knows. I don't mind selling those providing we have depth and cover in all areas. We got a little exposed last season due to some long term injury's. More so up front.

I would not.

Livermore can stay for sure, Spurs through and through and still young-ish. Reminds me a lot of Parker, give him time I think he could come good but a late bloomer.

Nice to see Joke Kinnear opening all them doors and our much needed reinforcements pouring through the doors :p

Oh next season should be fun : /

So, did Higuain get on the plane to the Bermuda Triangle on Thursday? WTF is happening!!!

We're probably still haggling with Real over a few hundred grand :o

I'm looking forward to him doing the post match interviews on MOTD :p

Did Arsenal really put a £30mil bid in on Saurez? Or are they making big bids on players they know won't move just to appease the fans?

I don't believe the club has made a bid. I don't think the history Saurez has would sit well with Wenger. It's more likely to be made up by the media, or possibly Liverpool trying to get the ball rolling on shipping him out to Madrid.

Manchester City's Scott Sinclair has been backed in from 20/1 to 1/4 to sign for Newcastle this morning. Everton are thought to be their nearest contenders at 6/1. See all our transfer odds

Not sure on this one, he was good as Swansea, but has done nothing for a year! I think his wage demands will be too high for us...

I'm pretty sure I read that it was a mistake and that he wasn't boarding a plane to leave Madrid but that he'd just arrived back in Madrid, or something.

It's most likely what BaZ (?) said, that Madrid are using Arsenal to sound Liverpool out. I think they would have placed a bid but just to test the water.
