I ordered a very similar build a few days ago. Including the hdb board. Stulid you think its worth swapping it for the d3hp? (as I still have to wait for the case and cooler to arrive) what will I gain by doing so? is the overlclocking much different?

Yes I do, I have tried a HD3, the D3HP is a better, it doesn't have a brown PCB for a start, it also has Ultra Durable 5+ features.

It overclocked the same CPU higher too,

The D3HP got mine upto 4.6Ghz before struggling to go further, the HD3 is around the 4.2-4.4 range. I also seem to remember its missing some useful overclock options in the BIOS.

well the build went well but the corsair cpu cool was on back order. This arrived today, I fit it and connected it all up but when I tried to power it on there was just nothing. I removed the cooler and replaced it with the stock fan and got power but now it looks like the the 2 hard drives aren't being detected at all so I just the message "reboot and select proper boot device" the dvd drive is being detected

any thoughts on this one?

Just checked an old hd I found and that works. so looks like the cpu cooler had blown both of them
