Are you saying Everton are a 'much bigger club' than Villa?

He's trying to be controversial - and failing miserably.

We had a huge 3 penalties last season - all of which Benteke converted.

So 3 of his 19 goals in the EPL were from the spot.

For information, van Persie also bagged 3, Gerrard 4, Lampard 5. Lukaku 2 of the 3 he took.

In the case of Bebe, he scored 2 goals in 7 games and I believe only 4 of those were starts. They were also from the wing, not up front as he's not a striker.
He was by all accounts, very good last season prior to injury.

In history, no. At this moment, and for the better half of the last decade, most definitely.

Benteke isn't playing for the European winning Villa side, or even the early to mid-nineties Villa, is he.

He scored 1 in 17 in the league for the Rio Ave last season, thus going some way (£3) towards justifying the large outlay to sign him.

"Last Decade":

EPL final standings:

2012/13 Everton 6th / Villa 15th
2011/12 Everton 7th / Villa 16th
2010/11 Everton 7th / Villa 9th
2009/10 Everton 8th / Villa 6th
2008/09 Everton 5th / Villa 6th
2007/08 Everton 5th / Villa 6th

That's the past 6 seasons - aside from the last 2, it's been literally on a par

Nokkon = spot on. As usual.

Everton are of a size with Villa. In recent years Moyes has had his playing squad performing very well and Villa have been underperforming.

They are similar in every other way, except Villa have a better stadium.

...he's not worth the gamble...

This is what it comes down to really, and if I were pushed into a prediction I'd say he'll stay at Villa. Assuming the £20M-£25M or greater valuation by Villa is truth then I can't see any justification for any English club to buy him.

I mentioned the French clubs mainly because they don't care about FFP at the moment, but they do need squad depth and younger players. Even so it's a stretch, there must be much better value and/or lower risk elsewhere.

Also, I wonder if this transfer request is due to bad advice from agents. Benteke did so well it seems like Villa is the ideal place for him to continue.

You were talking about his goals in the previous post, attempting, somehow, to justify something.

Kept up, one up, shut up :)

Nope. I said "Played well" last season, not "Scored lots of goals". English. Do you grasp it?
Also, in the case of finishing, it's hardly level when you've finished above Everton once in those times (one place.) But again, he's at Villa *now*, not then, so yes, Everton is a better move. Which is my point.

As for justifying something, I was merely drawing attention to the point you compared Benteke a striker, so a load of players who aren't, of which Bebe certainly isn't. He's a winger, and a winger who scored 2 in only 7 games for us, which is pretty good, no? It's not rocket science.

Also, don't tell me to shut up.

Your point was 'much bigger club' not 'a bit better at the moment'.

We dropped down after O'Neil left. We'll see how Everton does now Moyes has left next season.
