The buyer, seller, Ebay, Paypal, collectplus and yodel

I'm prepared to write off the £40 costs but it's the principle. I'm going all the way with this one, police and all.

The first thing they'll say is prove it, can you prove you didn't send him a different keyboard?
If not then don't even bother wasting your and their time.

Not exactly the point is it.

If your Range Rover Evoque got stolen and replaced with a Ford Mondeo would you be ok that they're pretty much the same car because they share the same platform?

I think I'd be more concerned about how I came into ownership of an Evoque, really. :p

I have a similar issue, albeit with Amazon marketplace. Having had a read through, it seems Amazon will refund buyers without really reviewing cases properly. I sold something for £300 last week on Amazon marketplace and then the buyer claims it doesn't work. Was working fine before it was sent out. Not too confident that Amazon won't screw me over. There goes £300..

I'm now going to send everything in those large grey packing bags with the self seal strip. It might prevent from tampering in transit as the buyer is trying to claim the box looked like someone has resealed it.

100% Scam.

I sell a lot of car parts on ebay and had a few problems with people claiming items were defective and asking for a refund when I was sure they were working. I started marking all my items with a invisible ink marker, funnily enough a lot of the returned items don't have my mark on them. When a dispute gets raised I usually drop into the message I will refund once I confirm the security mark on the item at which point they stop responding to emails.

Basically, just because you have morals it doesn't mean the rest of the population do. It's nearly always Eastern Europeans this happens with.

I've only just started trying to sell things on eBay and keep reading stories like this. Makes me wonder how long it will be before this happens to me too.

I hope you get things sorted and hope Paypal/eBay side with you (however unlikely that appears to be).

Had a similar thing happen to me and they always side with the buyer so just put it down it experience. Your luck it was not an expensive peice of kit.
