I'd imagine Cli-Machx to be soaking wet even after a 6 month record breaking drought!

Don't get me wrong I like the trail (mainly for the final descent) but it stores water like nobody's business. We went during a soggy spell a few months back and I've been less wet in a bath!

At this rate I think you'll be on for a scorcher  I'm going to north wales for a week early August and I'm expecting sod's law to bless me with 7 days of typical soggy weather :D It should make Penmachno interesting..
Never ridden Penmachno... actually I did once and we get terribly lost on top of a mountain... never did it since. Think that may have been Mach 2 (maybe 3)...

Always been relatively dry compared to the amount of rain coming down when I've been there in the past... it's all about that final descent... it's the only reason to go, and when you do use the shortcut ;)

I guess living that way you're used to more water ;) Agree about the shortcut, the place has a different feel since the tree work too.

Ha, yeah something like that. I learn't to swim and ride a bike in the same afternoon :D

Tree work you say? That's new to me... I know what you mean though, Llandegla took a bit of a battering when they did the tree felling... same route but felt completely different. And the Forest of Dean is the same :( Bloody forestry commision!

Nick, do you have long legs or short legs? Long torso or short? Because 17" might just be fine for you. Sat on any 17" bikes?

I'd say medium to long legs, and medium torso, maybe longer arms if that means anything?

A few bikes i have been eyeing up online

http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/trek-3900-mountain-bike/1024539045 - looks okay but i believe its from 2005/6 so maybe a bit old?

http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/2010-specialized-hardrock-a1/1023251334 - looks nice but maybe a bit expensive

http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/specialized-hard-rock-pro/1023353419 - same as above but doesn't look quite as good condition - also need to ask what size it is

What do you think of the Carerra i linked for £225 - i did offer £200 in excitement but was declined before i decided to ask for advice. i thought it looked good with the hydrolic brakes and lockable front suspension

The other thing with the 17inch trek4300 is the lockout switch is broken

Gee & Rachel Atherton have won the Crankworks air DH... they're cleaning up! Surely signing them up was the best decision GT has ever made

Just saw those results, they're definitely on for a good season! Best of luck they stick it out in the Worlds. I think it will change a little bit when they get to some of the less techy tracks but who knows?!

Crappy pics of the new proofs, but I'm liking it

PS: If anyone's interested in a Stans Flow on hope 2 wheelset ( white rims, red hubs, 20mm x 135 ), including tubeless valves and taped up , spotless condition - let me know.

I bought a bike about 2 months ago and went to clean it today, wasn't very dirty just a little dusty. I noticed this when I went to sponge it down

Any idea why that has happened? It went for the first free service about 2 weeks ago where they do the brakes and other bits but not sure what else? Not sure if it happened before then or something wasn't assembled correctly afterwards. I went on 1 'off road' course. It was just a little path way through a bit of a wooded area was no jumps/bumps or anything just a track away from the road so it got 0 abuse.

Is it a scratch in the paint work or an actual hole in the metal? Also has the chain come off from the front recently, if it gets trapped between the chainrings and chainstay it can mark the frame like that.
